Wives love to decorate. (I won't state it any more strongly or accurately for fear of sounding man-ish). Tell her it's a decoration for the new house. A lot of wall space as I recall and the blue and chrome would add a little something.

Report back on how that conversation went.

LZ and Pink Floyd..............ugh on most of it, Seattle radio just played the crap out it. (Seeing LZ live didn't help - they sucked hard, worst show I've ever seen). Followed closely by anything/everything Steely Dan.

Happily, they didn't overplay "When the levee breaks", I do very much like it and think it the best LZ tune.

Yes! Clearly the new home's Schweng Fooey is out of balance...

I knew something was out of whack but couldn't discern exactly what. You nailed it. All Marshall has to do is mention how many here noticed that same thing and how we all arrived at the exact same decorating suggestion independently and apart from him. How can she possibly say no after that? After all, it's a consensus! Our work here is done. Another decorating faux-paux averted. No need to thank us.

My band is a mostly 'cover' band and the important factor is not to play standards, or at least not the overplayed 'standards' that most cover bands play. The wide variety of styles of songs we choose are really well written mostly pop songs and our version/delivery of them is paramount. A lot of people hearing our set may not be familiar with a certain song but as long as it's performed well they enjoy it. It's kind of like these "first time hearing" vids - a good song is a good song and there are many great songs out there to introduce open ears to. We're learning/recording and performing more originals all the time but an ideal set for us is a mix of those songs and the best 'covers' we've honed over the years. Ask Chucky - he's attended our shows! :)

I currently have a bolt on bird being finished by Pat and based on that I’d guess the PB VP cost over $700 to refin unless FPS did it himself. It’s a great price for a beautiful bird.

Right there with ya on the LZ love. If stranded on an island with a working stereo system and a box of LPs, I’d be perfectly happy with a complete collection of everything LZ and Pink Floyd released, throw some Skynyrd in there and I might not even want to be rescued off the island.

That bass break is where I really go off somewhere in the weeds. Sometimes its farther out than other times, but it sure is fun.

You are right about bass breaks like that. She's Not There has one that I can think of, and there's several others I have know I have played but that I can't think of at the moment. They are all from about the same five year period right around 1970 or a little earlier.
