I have a classic cinematic reference memory about that song. My first real job after a neighborhood paper-route was being a bus-boy in a local Italian restaurant. Saturday nights were "showtime" and we'd get there mid-afternoon to prepare for the night and work till 2AM. At around midnight, things slowed down and we were allowed to order from the kitchen and hang out in the (then closed) back room and eat before the final clean-up/close-down. (people still eating in the main rooms - but just less of them... more manageable) There was a jukebox back there and we'd play 45's while we ate. (it was a big place - the front rooms couldn't hear it) The waitresses bus-boy I replaced (each waitress had their #1 busboy) had his last night working there that Saturday night, and we ate our meal together. (really good food!) He was a bit older and I looked up to him. He loved that ND song and would play it over and over again when we were back there either setting up for the Saturday night crowd or as we were doing that night, having our late-night veal cutlet w/spaghetti. On this, his last night there - we wedged the juke-box's clear plexi cowl enough to "liberate" that 45, and he took it with him. At the time I felt it was fitting - it was his song.
I've never forgotten that moment of time in my life.

I’m a believer as they say.
I’m not a ND fan per se, but a couple of years ago (before the guitarist went away) we did Sweet Caroline. I didn’t like it much but every single person in front of seemed energised and were singing along like it was the highlight of their lives. I was stunned. But writing something like that takes talent I’m sure. So kudos to him.

I really like listening to many of the SD songs, but playing some of them can be a real workout, Tom Petty it’s not.
That’s beautiful! I don’t recall seeing that as a stock color, if it’s a refin it’s a darn good one.
I’d add one more to the no column.
Generally speaking Peavey cabs are built like tanks and bomb proof but every one I’ve played through had a baked in sound to it that focused too heavily on the mids. IMHO it’s too much weight to haul around for something that lacks bottom end and has very little resale value. Maybe if it were free and came with necessary replacement parts I might consider it, but I doubt it would ever be my main player or even a backup.
Ah shoot. You would decide to sell it when I just bought a house. I’m sure it’ll choose the right owner. I’m just sad it won’t be me. So beautiful.

Totally agree. I was envious (still am) when he did it. I priced a refinish with Pat Wilkins. @FlyingPigSound is offering it at a very fair price. I so wish I could.
I use D'Addario ENR17 Half-Rounds on my Thunderbird Classic-IV Pro. I like them a lot. Meanwhile, my cheaper bolt-on Thunderbird-IV is using the roundwounds it shipped with and they are ok.
Q107 in Toronto did that to Led Zep for me. They had about 8 LZ songs that they played and they played at least one every hour. It got to the point that I just didn't want to hear any LZ.
I did that to myself.
...and when it happened I went a good long while without LZ only to rediscover them again and again. Now, I'll dive back into their albums and fall in love with them again and again. Distance makes the heart grow fonder and all that.
Still my favorite band and JPJ, my favorite bassist.
Same happened to me. I went cold turkey for several years then went back and remembered how great the whole catalogue is.I did that to myself.

I have done the same to myself with a few artists, most notably Rush. For a period, I was listing to Rush all the time and then went off them for a couple of years. Went back and remembered how great it all is.

Phoey, when I played with cover bands, I started to hate playing the Standards. "Sweet home Alabama" in particular is such a BORING song because nothing happens, repeat the same chord sequence over and over.
Heck, I absolutely love the Cult's "She sells sanctuary" But it's only the studio version of that song which I love, the live version is even more drab than "Sweet home Alabama" Heck when the Cult play that song themselves you can hear the lack of enthusiasm in their delivery.
I hated playing that song live, since it's so boring and it just goes on and on...
