My folks loved Neil Diamond, therefore I got to hear quite a lot in my younger years, I have to say he was probably my fave of "their" music, still like him today.

The first gen dingwal bird looked better to me than the current one. That said, every clip I’ve heard of one sounds overly bright and crisp in a hifi kind of way, not deep and roaring like other birds. In fact, from what I’ve heard, I’d put the Droc and the Greco at two opposite ends of the bird scale. I tend to favor the Greco end of the scale.

I have never met her, but she is clearly a woman with fine tastes and a refined eye. A BMM guitar with f-holes is the pinnacle of style.

The problem with hit-makers like ND is their songs got played to death! I'd like Steely Dan more if "Ricky Don't Lose That Number" wasn't played 3 times every hour for months.

Many love him. I get that Geo. Just not my thing.

I express my admiration for him as 'the real deal' (songwriter/singer-performer) even if I really only 'like' a few of the songs he wrote/performed. I feel this way about many of the "giants" of pop like Sinatra, Martin, Bennett and many others from those 'golden years' of pop. I get more head-over-heals over someone like Scott Walker, but even with him I still respect many of the songs he delivered (a lot) even if they are not my favorites.

I read a short insight on him - he was a very serious songwriter along with being a very religious man and wouldn't let Tarantino use his version of GYBAWS in Pulp Fiction for ethical reasons. His song - I respect that even if I don't particularly agree.
