Thunderbird Club

I always have fun playing that song, since the bass line allows so much messing around. All you have to do is keep the groove, and it doesn't matter what else you do as the bass player on that song. I wander way off reservation, especially on the brief bass solo part. And it always fills the floor, which is also fun.

Just so the floor mob isn't brandishing pitchforks and torches. "That's not how Van played it!" "No demented seventeenth scales!"

Nobody ever listens to the bass player so long as you hit the I in the right place and don't screw up the groove. People who dance to BEG aren't Rush fans who have every little nuance memorized anyway. So, they are pretty forgiving.

Always remember - it is SHOW business. Any song can be made better with a great show.

Many Rush fans like BEG, guilty pleasure or otherwise.

Good afternoon Thunderbird loving sisters and brothers. Just taking a mental health minute and dropping by to wish you all well. Bill just had a birthday if I recall correctly, so thought I might make this a Wyman Wednesday. I hope everyone is having a good day. I am getting close to calling it a day and signing off the computer. Take care everyone.

Hah! I didn't realize I could look like a short white-haired Austrian woman by wearing a Janet dress from the RHPS! No.., not me! She is Zoe, the bass player with the Sunnyside 5 and usually plays a matte-black Ric.

I have been known to play my '66 J with Bond Girl though... (costumes were a regular part of BG) ;)

Kudos to the singer for playing that Epi... it is NOT an easy guitar to handle.

We're in Minnesota soon to be back in California hopefully by spring/early summer. I have a photo I took of the power plant on my wall in my music room that was taken across the street from the Whole Enchilada but same side of the highway if that makes sense. I was able to get a bunch of the boats from the harbor in it.
