Hello all, I need to know an easy way to fill my pickup cavities just enough to fit the EMG’s that I installed. I’d rather not fill them with blocks and re-route. It’s for my Eppi Classic IV and I’m thinking I’ll try putty first?

I figured I would fill the edges with putty and then do a sort of black paint fade and clear coat over it. Some custom pup rings would solve the problem if I could find them!

Dave at Frets on the Net is a great guy and made me pickup rings for my TB+ that fit perfectly. I'm sure he can do what you need. I had them done with adhesive on the back so it looks cleaner and I didn't have to drill. I got that idea from Carlo.

BTW I checked out Carlo’s build thread and noticed he hasn’t posted in a while hope all is good. Now that I think about it I may have posted the above pickup route question over on his thread a long time ago. I’ll have to go back and check. It was right around the time that I got my house so I was busy moving and such.

I agree with Ken and suggest rings.

Another update on this, the worst Thunderbird on any local classifieds ever:
Does anyone remember this? I've had a lot going on since I posted this beast two and half years ago, family stuff that meant I couldn't justify fiddling around with this project. Anyway, this is what it looks like after being able to spend some of the summer of lockdown starting to tidy up the messed up bits of it in preparation for painting it.

Was going to suggest trim rings but someone beat me to it. Should solve your problem and look quite nice.
