They found some of the money by the river but that's about it. He probably died since he jumped without oxygen or proper attire for such a high jump.

Actually the plane (727) wasn't all that high if I recall correct, the money found was on the Columbia River, well south of where he bailed out.

As I've said before, should any of you visit Seattle a trip to the Museum of Flight is a suggested stop. There's a large covered outdoor display that has a 727, note the figure standing beneath the tail - Mr. Cooper of course!

"Wearing only wraparound sunglasses, a thin suit, and a raincoat, Cooper parachuted into a thunderstorm with winds in excess of 100 mph and temperatures well below zero at the 10,000 foot altitude where he began his fall."

Hijacker and criminal mastermind D.B. Cooper parachutes out of plane - HISTORY

Not saying he couldn't have survived but the experts aren't certain.

BTW, I may be coming out to Everett for the Judas Priest show in March.

Falling from 10,000 wouldn't have killed him, the landing, ( he could be hanging in his 'chute from a tree today!) rough terrain and weather on the other hand!

Let me know if you're making the trip out! March is the slightly warmer, really wet time of year in Washington and Everett is actually a convergence zone for rain!

I sure will and last I checked I'm watertight. ;)

My brother said that his boss gave him front row center for Judas Priest and I was thinking I'd be heading to Tucson where he currently lives. He said nope, Seattle. I thought it was weird but rich people like my brother's boss, have homes all over the place so I didn't dig any further since a trip to Seattle sounded cool. Get to see my brother, get front row for a show with VIP treatment... what's not to like? Then I looked into the venue and it's not in Seattle but Everett... darn. If my bro has the time, I'd like to spend a couple/three days out there checking out the sights.

If you make the trip, try for at least 3 days.....You'll wish you had more time that that.
