We tried out a couple of Tshirt ideas today:
I like it with the membership number, but it doesn't look very M/C...
Just do what the rest of us do and say "a few pages back" with the standard disclaimer on a few pages being a few thousand pages.What I should've said, was "year before last" or "over a year ago" or something similar

Just the headstock - those in the know will know. It represents both the Thunderbird and the detachable headstock feature.
Another reason we need a TC wiki - definitions like this:
A few pages back : This refers to a previous post of unknown distance in time between the Big Bang post that created Thunderbird Club on Page One and the current post on the current page containing the phrase "a few pages back". Einstein[1] referred to this as "fuzzy time".
[1] Carleton Aloysius Einstein, creator of the deservedly forgotten 42 point bridge and the Extended Scale 42 inch Thunderbird,and not-perhaps-coincidentally the reason the term "fuzzy logic" was invented.
Also, now I want a Thunderbird with all four tuning pegs in the shape of the bird from the Woodstock logo. Or Woodstock from Charlie Brown.
Also a pickguard with Peanuts' Woodstock on it.

Gibson used those tuners on like 1/100th of the thunderbirds ever made lol

Very sweet…bought my first one, a ‘70 head in ‘82. still had the 6146 output which I upgraded to 6550s shortly afterwards. played it through a custom 2x15 for a couple of seasons and LOVED it…nothing like playing through an SVT…
I have a '70 too with the 6146B tubes, it needs a recap though but sounds great, it screams. It has a different sound than 6550's, It think it's actually louder. SVT's are the king IMHO.

Either a Gibson or a damn good copy. Fretboard looks ebony, though.
totally with you on the better grittier tone….apparently the 6146s have to be driven exceptionally harder by the preamp than the more linear sounding 6550s…..a whole lot was learned from that design in terms of reliability and usability….don’t think a master volume would be as missed if the original volume was placed post EQ instead of pre for example…
Also 6146B's are transmitter tubes, they weren't made to be run constantly pedal to the medal. I've read that it was really Keith Richards sustained power chords that made them rethink the power tubes. I bought it on ebay a few years ago and drove all the way to Ohio and back from Mass in one day to pick it up. Never again.
