I have used a flat head screwdriver as a slide.......:D
Thank you bylaw, I appreciate the suggestion. I was wondering if some pedal or combination of them might get me there. I am happy to say that Bird has exceptional sustain, not certain if it is tge active electronics (only active bass I have ever owned), or just the nature of the beast. Either way, I will look into your pedal set up. Thanks again.
That said, I was told by the drummer I play with that someties I can get a "bow-"like sound by using this set up:

With the effects pedals on and the amp just feeding back, you get an almost "infinite sustain" which allows me to move from note to note, usually sliding into and out of each note. I am not sure I hear it but that is what he says and he likes jazz, so he must be right.....

I'm disappointed with the Mod Shop. The cosmetic blems are often hard to overlook. This one has a few obvious issues. Why would a premium company intentionally put inferior product on the market with their name on it? It's especially baffling considering all it the QC issues they have been struggling with. Most high end companies go to extremes to avoid this to protect the brand.
I think they're looking for something to do with the blems beyond trashing them.

Not disagreeing with you, but to me “pirates” are the worst kind of criminal. Isn’t the definition someone who murders a crew and takes their ship? The word has been misused so much (music/software piracy?) that it’s lost it’s meaning.

Yeah, funny how the pirates at the beginning of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie are all considered lovable fellows by the end.

But pirates do more than what you said. Sometimes they pillage and rape, too.

We got whacked by the same system on Monday in Northern Virginia..By now it seems like everyone has seen the I 95 back up footage on TV.
One of my employees thought he could make it home to Fredricksburg at 10 am..wrong. He was stuck for 28 hours.
It was a very wet heavy snow and took out lots of trees.Still thousands without power. We had 11.8 inches at the house. 62 degrees on Sunday and almost a foot of snow by noon Monday.
All Thunderbirds are safe and accounted for.

Pine trees and bad weather are a terrible mix.
