That's a pic before I swapped frames. Same model, (SLOT1-57cm) one size bigger and in different stripe. The black 55cm one is now a back-up. Aluminum lugs/SCC carbon tubes/Easton fork. Full Campy Chorus Carbon. 10spd ti-cassette. It's a race machine so very stiff and around 17lbs. It's "old" by modern standards but a very responsive ride.

I had a Pinarello years ago, I still miss riding and it's been many years.

Yes but you lose power if you run them at a higher (incorrect) impedance. They are stout enough to handle it unlike a lot of tube amps. A difference between tube amps and SS amps is it's bad idea to run SS amps at lower than recommended impedances and just the opposite with a tube amp. It doesn't hurt a SS amp to run them at higher impedances, you just get less power, tube amps like to be at correct impedances but lower is better for them than higher. You can run a SS amp with no speaker attached, don't try that with an SVT, ask me how I know :laugh:

Not really - the pu route is generally only 1/2"-3/4" deep, the neck pocket ledge 1" and the body is 1.5" so there's plenty of wood to stabilize it. The '70s Fender Tele bass with the Seth Lover bucker at the neck was the same thing and never had an issue.

Here's my latest chambered 2-piece mahogany body to show how far one can go. As it is essentially a honey-comb it's plenty structural. (neck pocket still to be cut out of the top 1/2)

You’re correct, fresh Antigua finish is actually kinda nice looking and more brown and cream. Unfortunately as it ages it takes on a pretty unattractive baby poop green color.

I didn't look that closely, did this one have some obvious blems? I don’t think the goofy pickguard is a blem, it’s a mod (which I’d undo).

LOL - everything in life is relative. Maybe I should put an Alembic sticker on the back of my 911 for the Gibson Peasants. Of course I’m sure I’d eventually run into a Rolls Royce with a Ritter sticker down playing Alembics.

This is a 2022 Pinarrelo Dogma - their top of the line carbon monoquoc frame/fork 22speed road machine. The bike of the team that has won the Tour de France a number of recent years. Completely computer/wind-tunnel designed for optimal performance. I don't know the price tag but I'll guess about 10k. To compare, when I owned my Pinarrelo Arco in the mid '80s (with full Campy Record-top of the line) was around 2k. crazy.

One would think so. Now Gibson has created a new phenomenon. Now instead of the just the headstock flying off the whole neck will launch to no telling where.

Wait...they just fixed the headstock flying off problem by creating a designed-in weak point to fracture so the headstock isn't damaged. Brilliant! Now if you have to repair the glue joint will not be where you play.

I don't know, as I didn't look it over. I just recall a bass or two where that was the case from them.
