I got a set of the JF344s a couple weeks ago. Put them on my MIA Pbass and really liked them. After adjusting the truss rod a bit and turning down the tone knob a bit more than i had it i was very happy with the tone. But i wasn't happy with the Cobalts on my MIA Jazz. Today i was fooling around on the J and turned the bridge pup down about 3/4 of the way and loved it-except the single coil hum. Then found when i boosted the 250kHz band on the EQ about 6dB with both pups on full it was a pretty similar tone, but i did not like the P going through that same setting-was too much low mids from the TIs. So i wound up trading strings to try out the TIs on the Jazz and WOW!!! Exactly what i wanted with the EQ mostly flat how i usually set it! But now i really don't like the Cobalts on the P, so those will be relegated to backup duty and i'm going to order a set of the LaBella low tensions and give those a shot on that.

I love the JF344 than LTF4A on my Split coil Pbass, But funny thing is LTF4A sound nicer than JF344 on Single coil Pbass.

Update

I put this JF344 on my Squier Cv60P yesterday.
This JF344 have similiar tension and stiffness like LTF4A , the .070 A string is NOT flabby at all. I can get the action low to 2mm on E string and 1.5mm on G string at 17th fret without single fret buzz.

Tone is something like Sadowsky Black label flat 40-100 , but the D and G sound is close to aged roundwound string with NO Fresh Zing and louder than others flatwound D/G string i use before.

After adjust the pickup height, overall tone output is well balance from string to string.

This JF344 is lack of some classic thump even roll off the tone than LTF4A, she present nice warm and thick MID range with better sustain.

Honestly, if i willing to spend the money for JF344 in the earlier , i can save the money from Sadow black label 40-100, Chrome ECB81 , Fender 9050L and 9050CL.(all modern vibe Flatwound string).

For you Split coil P bass guy who wanna move to flatwound but love the aged roundwound sound from 40/45-100 gauge ; resist with the natural high tension/stiffness of most flatwound string and No such time to wait for broke-in periold , i highly recommand Ti JF344.

talked with who? it would be pretty hard to counterfeit those strings, I think. If they are, maybe they might even be better.

I believe there are just different in packaging for US, Europe and Asia.
I been browse Rakuten site, and found Ken Smith Compressor in 5 String set with cheaper price compare to 4 string set + Single B on US Ebay.

It is a little strange after all those years to change the packaging to the same as the rounds.

Well I checked and I don't have the packaging but it was in the "newer" packaging not the "yellow" packaging. But out of all the other pictures I've searched for, these appear the same.
