Time to switch to Dunlop Super Brights!!!

Yeah tis the nature of Super Brights. They come out of the winder smaller than when they start. That's one reason they are so balanced in feel and have an even tone across all strings. They are designed for a specific feel and sound, not for a gauge measurement. Whatever the reason, it works. They are incredible strings!

So two months after I posted this comment I have completely fallen in love with these strings! It didn't take long to get used to the flexibility and now I can't see how I didn't like it to begin with. These strings have such a solid yet smooth tone to them. Clear with tight bottom end.

I remember jimmym saying how he wasn't sure if he liked them better new or on the dead side....I understand what he was talking about. They seem to have matured into a real sweet spot.

I gotta say thanks to mmbongo for making sure we all know how awesome these strings are. Thanks dude!

Excellent! And yeah I don't think I've had a set 'die' yet. They just never lose that clarity and crunch it seems. I change them about every 6 months or so just because.

I'd been wanting to get into SS strings on my Pbasses, so I did some shopping at the local GC. I managed to get an older guy who knew what he was talking about, and after about 20 minutes of shooting the bull, I walked out with Dunlop SS Super Brights. So far, the tone is amazing. Waiting for the honeymoon to end and see where they fall tone wise. I don't think I'll be disappointed for $17 a set though.

They're even better at $13.50 a set after the TB user discount at Bass Strings Online :)

Yes I didn't care for the .125 either and was shocked by how much better I liked the .130. I didn't think I would like it because I normally like a .135 but I now use the .130 Nickel SuperBright on my 5'ers.

Thanks Bongo - I too am coming from a .135 B string which worked great. Now that I am considering the SB Nickels (due to the .105-.45 sounding /feeling really nice), I want to make sure I can get the same B quality I had with my .135 B (FlexSteels). Sounds like the .130 might do it for me.

What did you like better about the 130B?
I've been using the standard 125 and now considering trying the 130, but it costs a bit more getting a separate 130

Instead of buying a 45-105 set and adding a 130b, get the 6 string set. It's about $1.50 cheaper that way through BASSSTRINGSONLINE.COM. I noticed this fact after I ordered a 4 string set with an added B for myself.

I decided to pick up a couple of sets...only have rounds on my jazz bass....and they will only be wearing these Dunlop Super Brights (nickel) on them...love the feel and tension...so glad I gave them a shot, my search for the ideal rounds are done now...between these and the TI flats...I am content... No more string decisions to worry about!

Depends on the instrument. Some yes some now. They have a 37.25" winding length from Ball End to Taper. So if you measure from Ball End to Nut and the distance is within 37.25" then yes they will work. If your instrument has a Zero Fret, then measure Ball End to behind the Zero Fret.

Thank you! bass is a Lakland DJ5, so seems like they will fit just right.
