Tone Machine Guitars (NEW BASS!!!)

This bass does something I don’t see many attempt—it manages to pay homage to the classic while not slavishly imitating it. I think it’s great.
How about posting some clips?
I’m inclined to agree. Usually I wouldn’t stray from Fender but this bass seems so well-put-together and while it looks similar to some classic designs it still retains that original/beast-of-its-own vibe. I feel like so many brands just copy fender and it puts me off when a, Sadowsky or a Nash (albeit quality brands) for example looks so similar to something they’re not. I hope that makes as much sense as it just did to me:D

So very much to love! Count me as one who'd dig a short scale version.

So my long time friend and guitarist in my band (Frisson PNW) builds guitars. He does everything by hand in his little garage. He's not only a super talented guitarist and studio engineer but also amazing Luthier.

Last summer I asked if he'd try building me a bass. He agreed and we designed it off of one of his popular guitar designs. I got the bass last night and used it during our rehearsals. The thing feels amazing, the neck is perfect, light weight (8lbs) and just sings.

This is the "Stella" bass after my daughter who picked the color and wrote her name down so we could screen it onto the back of the headstock.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in the bass let me know. He's decided to start building more basses since this one came out so great.
