Top bassists who use a pick

krist novoselic. i know some might not agree, but for the love of god look deeper into nirvana's not as commercial stuff,i.e; with the lights out,bleach,etc. he actually has some really good basslines whether you want to believe it or not.

You're right, Sneckumhaw, Randy CA was the guitarist but it was not him there, it was that bald and wide guy who drummed for Spirit, Everytime I think of Spirit I always think of Randy. But I only cared about meeting Bogart anyway. He also seemed to like the heck out of his Kramer. It was cool getting to meet him.

While I dont personally use a pick (I';m not saying that as if I'm some how superior to pick players) my favourite pickers would be (in no order) Paul McCartney, Paul Simonon, Martyn P. Casey and I think Alexander Hacke uses a plectrum too.

yes, i do like the pick tone, but i hate using one/.....

i can achieve a sexy tone on my bird with my sansamp(:
sounds like a pick, hahah my drummer keeps telling me to use a pick (does he play bass? hell no.) and we were playing back a recording and he was like "ahhh! you used a pick!"

"nope, fingers b*tch"

he begs me to get 5+ strings.....im sorry i do not want to be a 'wanna-be-guitar-player"

I had the good fortune to see that KC lineup live on three occasions and Wetton didn't use a pick during those shows. He would however switch to his thumb at times and sometimes used the tip of his index finger like a pick. Man what a band that was.
