Totally amateur recordings thread

Yep, the stuff I am hearing here makes me feel this big. I mean, I am self taught, this recording is two track live jamming of a four piece in my room. It's all just child's play. But I had a good time. Not that this is my worst performance ever, or anything like that... I am playing on my B string here and I am not punching through, I am sub sounding in the mix. Which is good because I wasn't comfortable in it for quite a while. In between actual songs during rehearsal, you would many times have these spontaneous jams break out of no where. Sometimes 20 minutes long!
Here's one I'll call blashire. And there is an artistic youtube video of it too!

Ha, ha... Look at those amateurs!

That "super subby" sound of your tone and the bass drum together is pretty cool. I like that descending line thing too, I think that's the bass?

I'm diggin' that low rumble, too!

And there's plenty of room for less "radio-ready" recordings in this thread. My tracks don't have that polish, but I think they're worth listening to for what they are.

Thanks for giving your take on it bholder.

We once were interviewed on the radio and enjoyed airtime. Down to the station for a 2hr in booth chat with the DJ. I recorded the show at home. When you play back the show it is interesting. All the polish I lavished on "album tracks" was still sub par of the professionally produced material. Yet in the context of the particular show's genre, we fit right in.

Here's 3/4ths of the band members at the station with host tim matranga on the show kicksville 29bc. Listening to the show in it's entirety is quite impressive how our material was woven in with real and commercial offerings. Our drummer gave a fascinating interview about the local music scene here that he was a part of since an early age. He sounded very professional and knowledgeable compared to the harsh, rude, boisterous beer drinking guy he was. Love him! R.I.P.

Last picture, our first and second albums were featured. But we played tracks from off #3 too.

That has potential. Have you thought about a free DAW like Cakewalk and a drum program?
Thanks! That was just a phone recording from the bedroom, but I do most of my recordings with Audacity. Tried and failed to learn Reaper - I have seldom seen a less intuitive UI on a program....

Another "bedroom cell phone take", covering Stones' Wild Horses yet again. Almost remembered the chords to the chorus, even. 'scuse the croaky frog singing. He got old.

Agreed about Reaper. I had to change DAWs from Cubase and tried Reaper. That lasted about 15 minutes. It's not intuitive at all.
