Totally amateur recordings thread

"not neccissarily popular music, but it could be popular"
That is a direct quote of a radio station jockey as he describes where a particular cut was coming from. I've never forgotten the quote and have the recording in question. The show was called "Mr Filter's Unusual music". They ran stuff like this in general. And me, I have been doing the same since the late 70's as well.
And so I give your DFL Duo 10524 1 a like.
Myself and a friend are jamming tunes like that just about every two weeks.

Right on, thanks! Yep, we play every two weeks as a duo and trio, and less frequently with a drummer as a quartet. Always digging the weird shadooby.

And so an example is the latest. The 10-4-24 session yeilded near 3 hours of recorded footage. This snippet is provided as an example. Now on my soundcloud page, it wont be there for too long as I am out of space. "get it while she's hot"
What you got is a two man team that plays off what we're hearing. We start some backing going and play on with out ever having discussed a single thing.
It's recorded in 2 track stereo and is a live performance. Not the best from that day, but at least it is not one of the 20 minute plus cuts.
I am using a 12 srting bass while playing different keyboard passages when I can get time to. The other guy is playing a sitar type guitar and going through a crap load of stomp boxes. Our tunes are constantly evolving in an uncanny transisional way that has you guessing what might come up next before the last riff has even completed. See if you can dig it. It's not neccissarily popular... in some cases embarrasing. But I know I can play it here with out being chastized for it. Really what this 5 min cut is, is the inbetween stuff between those long as bits. If we all had time to kick back and listen, I would have posted one of the longer cuts that were singled out in my rough edit segmentation of the raw footage. Or if I had more room than the alotted 3 hours of free hosting on soundcloud. The sound cloud page is full on more song like entries.

OK, nothing is perfect, but this is amateur recordings remember. And I sometimes get creative by putting them to video too. This one, footage from a camp fire burnt in 2010 is added to another jam from those two man stereo recording sessions. I have manipulated the fire in multiple ways. The audio is merely "jump cut" to create an arraingment. Not even "mixed" in anyway. Just slammed together and thrown at the video... as you'll see.

Nice! I'd love to hear it with a big drum beat loop - BOOM! POW! BOOM-BOOM-POW!

When I listen to that track, I can hear the beat in my head.
