I get a kick out of folks who penetrate their finger through an unopened bag of grapes for a sample, like it, set it down, then grab another one to purchase instead, leaving the punctured one with their aura all over it for someone else to consume.

Aside from the above, a single vine can produce on average, up to 12#s of grapes...do they think both bags will automatically be from the same vine or taste exactly the same?

This is a totally common and bizarre phenomenon. Countless people, my ex-wife included, will open a package at a store to verify that it's what they want, put it down and get an unopened one because they don't want to buy an opened package. I'd love a rational explanation of this.....

I've seen people do that with books.
Browse through it in the most careful and respectful way, yet put it back and pick another one to buy.

It might be that they don't want to get called out at the register for having opened it before purchase.

I wish.
I was just at a store and saw a guy take an empty banana peel from his kid in the self-service lane and throw it in the trash in direct eyesight of the supervisor, then proceed to scan his other items along with the rest of the bananas!

I was just directed to this page by accident and haven't read in between here and the current last page so I don't know if someone had a better answer than they just want a newer, non-used one, as they know where their hands have been...namely the shopping cart handle?

Before Price Club became Costco, if they caught a member opening a box, they would lose their membership, as most people would do the same thing to high-ticket items...open one up and leave it for a pristine one.

I wish they'd go back to enforcing that rule again.

I made a Canadian joke via text and typed 'aboot', and now every time i try to swype 'about' on my phone, it auto corrects it to the Canadian version so I have to manually correct it.

Joking aboot a group of people based upon their origin or mannerisms never leads to anything good

After WWII, my mother was a stewardess (that's what they called them in the day) for Pan Am. She flew on DC3s out of LaGuardia to Montreal. She lived in this apt bldg. in Jackson Heights on 86th St. This is a pic of my brother, sister and me visiting the old neighborhood some 70 years later. My brother just retired as a corporate pilot last year.

It was interesting, indeed. Of course, we had no idea what the neighborhood looked like in 1948, but I don't think it looked too different than it does now. It's a pretty nice neighborhood, mostly Hispanic. The building is a short walk from the 7 train and about a half a mile from LaGuardia.
