how does one go about trading gear when you don't live anywhere near the other party? is it just on the honor code? obviously references help make the decision easier. please place in the correct forum if need be. thanks

Honor system, but always research the other person, check their references, talk to them on the phone.

I have been trading instruments for 30 years, only twice did I walk away for a trade that didn't feel right. Both times, I would have been hurt. If for any reason you don't feel right, don't do it.
