So here it is! Ready to play! ;)

I refinished the headstock in matching silver, added the jazzmaster decal, and voila, I think it looks awesome! Also added some inlay decals for looks, and thats it. Gonna play this baby! What ya'll think? :smug:

Necessary pics, bass is over "Gata" the fat cat of mine...

super happy with what I did to the bass!

The white ones are sweet!!! Gotta wonder why they discontinued them.
The above is very nice ! Not sure either - ive noticed some small differences between my white on and my black one. It seems the body is a hair bigger, the cavity for the electronics is a different size and shape, the output jack is different and it seems theheadstocks on the white ones yellow due to the clear coat. The guy I got mine from had 2 and both had yellowed headstocks. It seems yours does too. Its hard to tell from a distance, but its there. You can notice a little on mine.

We got them from the same guy :D (Fred!)
I wish mine had your cavity, because the preamp was a tight squeeze. Also, the older ones like yours could easily fit a pickguard (well, before the Nordys). They moved the neck pickup forward and it's not as easy to just take a 4 string MIM guard and do slight mods and make it like this:

FWIW, Andy, I saw your bass and HAD to make mine happen. Your bass is AWESOME!
And the yellowing happened on all of them I've seen. I'd have never spotted it if someone didn't point it out, but now it sticks out like a sore thumb to me.

Wow George... I was iffy about the pearl inlay stickers, but I gotta say, they look great! :D

Don't get me wrong, I ordered them just because I needed some other inlay decals for my ABG, and thought I would give them a look...They do look as fake as they are in the decal paper, but once I applied them on the fb I liked the look! And you don't feel them at all! ;) They are staying on!

Also, did my bro's ukelele with little green abalone "blocks" and it looks so cool!

If only I could dull the finish of the decal itself, it would look a little more uniform. But that would ruin the print.

Looks great!
I was contemplating installing some inlay stickers on one of my maple neck Squiers but was concerned with how they would hold up or look. I assume you didn't put any type of coating over them, correct? Do they hold up ok to playing? Did you go with one of the eBay suppliers or did you get them somewhere else?

I just bought them over in Inlay Stickers Decals For Guitar,Bass. Fret Markers,Signature Type., really just to know what was up...I didn't have to coat them with anything...just stick'em and they will star there, you can't even feel them while playing, and I've tried to get them to peel, but they don't. I'm probably putting some on my G&L bass.

You can also find them on the bay.

Oh, and one more thing, don't expect them to look like the real thing hehe, they don't. But they are a cheap way to add to the look. ;)

My bass showed up in another thread, so I had to post it here too. Early 90's Squier neck, mid 90's Squier body, Wide Range Humbucker, homemade pickguard.

New pickguard made from plexiglass.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

The routing for the pickup needed to be bigger, this had to be done very carefully, so I used a drill.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I used the blue wires to see if the bridge was in the correct position.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

The pickup is mounted on the body instead of on the pickguard. This way you don't see the four screws holding it in place.

The front of the pickguard covered in tape. This way I could paint just the back.

Black.

I used the baby-Dremel to make all these scratches in the black paint (and the plexiglass). All scratches are quite thick and more or less vertically.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Then sprayed the thing blue.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

More scratches, this time thin and horizontally.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Red.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Even more scratches. After this I sprayed it black again.
