CV 60 P Bass - Jazz Dlx Neck - Older early Lace Sensor Pups, vintage RI bridge.........still not quite done.....but working on it.

Does this qualify?

I could have sworn I posted this.....
Does it not qualify for a number?

Creme - yellowed pearloid!
Yes! Cream Pearloid for sure!

BTW, it's been said here many times, but bears repeating: The CV 60s P represents an extraordinary value. It truly rivals many Fenders costing three times as much. If you stuck a Fender label on that thing, few would be the wiser. It's that good. Heck, the body alone is worth $350.00, esp. with that stunning classic Sonic Blue finish!

I'll soon be in this club. I'm tricking out my Squier P with a hipshot drop D tuner, a dimarzio pickup, a custom thumb rest, and a new pickguard. At some point I may get a custom warmoth neck for it as well, and maybe I'll even go Billy Sheehan and install a neck pickup. Oh the options!

I'm also looking into getting a cheap bronco and turning it essentially into a Tele-style P bass. I really see Squiers as just templates for amazing bass guitars :D

Sorry for the lack of up to date updates. Im normally on TB while at work, but sometimes pictures get blocked. So I cant see some of the posts, so I dont update numbers.

@Hippos Melas, Albibass, Awkwardturtle!, and UnfortunateTony:
once your projects are done, ill give you a number.

No bashing intended...simply trying to follow the vibe here. I don't understand why you'd want to trick out a Squire when--by the time you spend the money on it--you could have bought an actual Fender. Maybe Squires are better than I thought they were?

No doubt some of these basses do look awesome.

I'm a non-Squire owner so I really don't have a frame of referenceon this. I own one Fender and it's a Strat so it doesn't count. So can someone explain the logic to me? :help:

Is it the "cheap project bass" thing?
If that's it, that's cool...I can dig that.

Customizing is alot of fun!;)

I have a Black Squier Affinity Jazz V. Will soon be dropping in some Fralins (had them laying around from another bass), CTS 250 pots, Mallory 150 .047uf cap, and Switchcraft jack.

I'm thinking about doing a Reranch Coral or Capri Orange refinish. May stay with the white pickguard or may go tort. Going to string it with GHS Precision Flats.

My CV 60s P basically has a tort guard. Not much modding there.

This thread is awesome! It's giving me some great ideas for my recently acquired black Squier P Bass! She's getting a Gotoh 201 bridge, dice knobs, straplocks and GHS boomers straight away!

Later on, new pickup, pickguard....maybe even some airbrush painting!

Sorry for the bad pic.

Selfmade thumbrests, black foil on the pg, strat knobs, strung with chromes. I sanded off the whole neck+headstock to get rid of the gloss and slickyness.
I`ll try to make a better pic some time. What you can't see is, the sloped edges of the pg are still white, so it's sort of 2-ply :P

I present mij Squier VM Jazz CS:

-CTS pots+series/parallel switch
-Sprague orange drop
-New control plate
-Hanson J-sonics
-Fender neckplate+decal, although that was done by the previous owner.
-JB knobs
