A question to all of you Squier modifiers, especially the ones with singlecoil pickups in jazz basses: Have you shielded the bass with coppertape or some similar material? How big of an improvement has it been to eliminate noise?

I have a Squier fretless VM jazz that I quite like, but would like to make it less noisy and was wondering if the original shielding (if there is any, haven't even looked into the cavities yet) is inadequate.

The VM fretted had shielding paint in it. My SDAJV does too. But I don't doubt some shielding would help a bit.

That, or noiseless pickups (like the Sadsowskys that I have in mine).

My Squier workhorse! This is my main bass and I love it! I just have to personalize my basses!

Black dice knobs
Flame tape applied to pickguard

Hey, just spotted this thread on the "Home" page and I just finished up my Bronco last Thursday.

I'm at my attachment quota, but I can give you a link to the post with the pics.........http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/bronco-project-sybil-759630/

May I have a number please?

If you'd like 7.5G + of online storage - for free - then use Picasa 3 and don't set you pixs here as an attachment::

Picasa 3 Here

You have to upload your stuff anyway - so why not put them somewhere safe and if you need more space, just open another GMail account for another 7.5GB+ of storage.

I don't know If mine counts as a squier anymore. But it started as a standard series j bass then I put in the emg j set pickups and pots and then I found a 99 fender USA STD j bass body and installed the emgs pickguard control plate and neck with all the hardware onto the new body the only thing I'm waiting on is a new deluxe fender bridge thats in the mail. Let me know if I'm in
