hi, very nice bass.
could you tell me the exact model of this hipshot Xtender key?
is it perfect match to the squier bass or need some drilling? and if it line with the other keys?
thanks.

Ha!
:D

Seriously, the plate feels like any Fender plate. The brass saddles are what I like. I cannot say they change the sound or anything, but brass saddles are supposed to increase sustain. And since I changed so much on the 2 basses I have now used them on, and since I play with flats...well, I dunno.

I do like the vintage look of the brass though. The best part is the Wilkinson stuff is good, and at a great price!

Open notes ring out real nicely when you have a brass nut and brass saddle combined. Sustain for days...depending on neck/body material, of course.

Okay Squire fans, time I show you what's been hiding out at my house for the last year and a half....:hyper:

It's a Standard P Deluxe that I picked up off of Craigslist on the way to a big jam session. I had been bragging about the quality of the newer Squiers (not sure how new this is), and a buddy saw this post on CL early that morning. Three hours later (and minus $120) I had it in hand and headed for the jam. When I pulled it from my gig bag it shocked several of the guys that were told about the CL listing. They were talking about it as I began unzipping the gigbag! Most of the guys there were pro level players, and they were really amazed by the feel and tone of the instrument. At that time it was completely stock, strung up with Fender 7120 strings. There were a few folks not impressed (primarily because of the logo on the headstock, and for no other reason). I decided then that I would trick it out a bit, leave the stock electronics (eventually, I had to swap out the pots...too scratchy) and NEVER remove the Squier logo, just to prove a point about the quality of these low-buck instruments!

Specs:
Black Hipshot Tuners
Black Hipshot A Bridge
Black Hipshot Knobs
Black Neck plate
Black Neck screws
Black Pickguard screws
Black Strap Buttons
Black Input Jack
Black Jack plate
Purple Candy Crush Pickguard
Stock Pickups
CTS 500K mini pots (volume)
CTS 250K mini pot (Tone)
Sprague Orange Drop .047 Capacitor

Still need to install the black nut (misplaced in my bedroom somewhere) and the black straplocks.

Total investment still falls short of a MIM Fender; feels, sounds, and looks better too! :p

I just wish that I could ID that color! I have had no luck. It is not a refin, but I have never seen the color before. Its not Shoreline gold, Egyptian mist, or Pewter (at least I don't think it is). I have been asked a couple of times, but I have no answer. Would love to get a J bass the same color, but I don't know what it is!!!!
