Question...

How do you get the logo and serial number back on the headstock after you custom painted the headstock??

waterslide decal. you get them at some office supply store, hobby shops, however i got mine off ebay. just look for waterslide decals, then make sure you have the right printer for what they require. (ink jet, laser, etc.)

read directions. clear over it, sand, clear, sand, clear, etc. until its seamless. takes time to do it right, but its worth it. there are lots of other resources on here as well as the internet. questions, pm me.

Great looking basses Doragon.
Looking at your 60s P I'm a little bummed out. I just ordered a new Vintage Pearl pickguard for my SX Jazz, I thought about getting the Blue Shell but didn't ( the bass is Lake Placid Blue) seeing yours I realize I should have gotten that instead. :(

Oh well, guess I'll have to get one next time I order parts. :D

I keep hoping Squier will offer the 50s P in a left handed model. Yours looks great.

Cheers!

tyvm...I take a lot of pride in my Squier's. I really like the blue shell pickguard also. I think it really makes it pop.

Nice Doragon-- where'd you find the pg for the CV 50s? looks awesome.. bakelite?

That is actually the original pickguard but I spray painted it with Kylon paint. It's called Hammered to make it look like it's a piece of metal.I've actually been looking for a parchment pickguard but no one makes one that's even close to the stock one. I guess it's time to make a tracing and get one made.

Doragon, I've seen yours before...

It's not really "tricked out" in a flashy sort of way. More subtle, but it does get the job done.
I'm not too cool to accept a number.;)

Interesting comment I read earlier in this thread about there being no great difference between the stock pickup and the SDQP. I swear mine sounds better than before the swap. Maybe the combination of new pots, cap and pickup makes the difference, or maybe my ears are trying to justify the cash I spent on the upgrades?:D

I've found quite a difference between the OEM pickup and the SD Quarter Pounder. I especially like the tone of a single coil P style bass with the pickup lowered some but sometimes it can sound a bit muddy. For me the SD QP improves the definition of the low end compared to the OEM pickup in the same situation.

i had a mik squier pbass in the classifieds a bit back.
it sat there with no interest for nearly a month, after being listed there prior and ebay twice.

i decided to overhaul it completely and probably keep it.
since ive painted it and started redoing it, ive gotten two offers about the classified here. wth?

ill reveal it when its done.
in fact, its the one that started this club.

ps-ill update numbers tonight.
