Here's my Squier Affinity Precision:

So far I've installed a new pickguard, Seymour Duncan SPB-3, Gotoh 201 bridge and Rotosound RS77LD flats. Still got some work to do with the pickguard fitting and the electronics (not currently shielded), but will solve those sometime in the future. Also thought of getting a new neck with a maple FB, but seems that's out of the question right now.

Oh well, saving the money for a POSSIBLE 2nd bass. :hyper:

wow...great thread --got 3.... tricked & slicked:

....can i get a #?

I'll have to take some pics but I have an Indonesian P Special with a black metallic finish, white pearloid pickguard, Warmoth wenge/wenge Jazz neck with 3/8" Hipshot Ultralights, Duncan QP P pickup, the J was replaced with a DiMarzio X2N7, pickup ring made by Chip Todd (heavy duty, good for bridge located thumbrest), Dunlop Straplocks. It was rewired V/Balance/T. I replaced the Squier neck plate (which I moved to another Squier) with a Fender F plate. All HW is chrome. I haven't decided what to do about the bridge yet; the original is functional, but I have a Fender Deluxe bridge and ferruls as well as a Khaler tremolo bridge with reversed saddles (good for Fenders) looking for a home.

The original bass (with SKB type case), tuners and P pickup were purchased from the TB classifieds, and the Khaler was part of a trade on TB. Maybe that's a sign? I also have a custom Fender Frankenbass sticker I had made but I just don't feel right about it as it lacks enough parts from any single source to be called anything other than a parts bass, tho it did start out as a Squier so that's as good a label as any. Maybe I could get a Squier Frankenbass sticker made? Hmmm. I've been thinking about going V/Switch/T and using the 70s vintage P bass knobs I found in a toolbox, they'd be the only parts that were on a real Fender bass.

Black bass, dark neck, dark case interior, small flash. Used a little photoshop to get this. I also forgot to mention the tone is a push/pull but I forgot what the pull does and haven't played with it while plugged in.

Here's mine...

(Sorry for crappy pic)

Squier 70's VM, Dimarzio P/J with switches for series/parallel, hip shot ultralights with De-Tuner, custom pickguard...

Great Thread!

Question...

How do you get the logo and serial number back on the headstock after you custom painted the headstock??
