727 torque flight reverse gate slap shifter., on the hump. Gusseted case.
Lowered on all 4, mil spec truck leaf in the rear, police package sway bars, truck torsion bars, vented disks, spindles, on the front. traction bars on the rear.

One thing I've never had is a reverse pattern valve body. As much as my trans builder tried to talk me into a reverse pattern for the Camaro, I wanted all my hot rods to have the same pattern to keep confusion to a minimum. Most of the shifters I have are only capable of ratcheting in one direction..... forward.

I can see it now... I make it to the finals in a big money race and I leave in third gear.

Lol I hear yah, but it is a lot easier once you are used to it I suppose. That was a car I bought when I was 14, most of the work was completed by my senior year it was my first car!

Addendum : Ironically that means the Car was 14 when I finished School! I'd post pictures, but they got lost in the shuffle of 2 divorces and 30+ years

True but the Ethyl that once was sold at filling stations was a type of gasoline, not alcohol. My family owned a filling station in the 60s and 70s and I pumped a ton of that stuff.

Actually "Ethel" as seen in e cartoon was the name of the mammoth not a fuel type. Remember, Fred's car was foot-powered...

Yes Ethyl is a type of fuel but it is not alcohol. You're getting Ethyl, the brand of a gasoline compound, mixed up with ethyl alcohol which is another term for ethanol. Two totally different things with similar names.

Not sure what your second line means, or why we must assume Fred was using Ethanol in his vehicle.

Actually, after looking it up I learned that Ethyl, the fuel, was a generic term for a brand name (a la Xerox). It's made by adding tetraethyllead to gasoline (originally developed by GM, produced by Dupont, and sold by the Ethyl Corp). I knew ethyl was higher octane and reduced engine knocking but didn't know the manufacturing background.
