Just got this email from Tronographic cuz I'm on the list:


If you are receiving this email, it means you are on the waiting list for a Rusty Box.

Here is an update to the status of shipping Rusty Boxes:

We are very confident that we will begin shipping Rusty Boxes on August 15th, just over one month from now. Most likely we will start taking orders for Rusty Boxes on August 10th. Ordering will first be open to all of you on the waiting list. After about a week we will open up ordering to everyone else. We will ship the units based on receiving payment. Those who buy first will have their Rusty Boxes shipped sooner.

We will email you again when we are ready to accept orders and payments. Paypal will be the only accepted form of payment.

The pricing will be as follows:

Rusty Box w/ US AC Adapter = $185.00
Rusty Box w/ EU, UK or AUS AC Adapter = $190

Shipping charges:
USA - $15.00
Canada - $27.00
Europe and Asia - $37.00
Australia and New Zealand - $40.00

Yeah, you guys ARE sick. Here I don't even have one...NOT ONE I SAY. It's cool, though. I got my email from them as well and I'll be picking one up finally...after Cataract swooped in and stole one out from under me :crying:

What sucks is that I'm trying to get my board together and every week I'm picking up more gear! And then new stuff gets released and it's like "uh...yeah, I"ll take one of those." Whatever. The Source Audio BEF Pro and the Rusty Box and that's it...that's all I need...and my NYC board...and my 5 channel loop master and that's all I need!

I would suggest we start a support group, but all we would do is support each other in acquiring more.

I have a feeling I'm not getting the most out of my RB.
I practice at a moderately low volume (living in an apartment) and while I feel I'm getting some pretty sweet tones out of it, I can't seem to get super hot and gritty without having to raise the overall volume.

Is this the case? Am I doing it wrong?!

I'm trying to get some grindy tones without making my neighbors hate me more than they already do.

Running MAIN output into the effects return- volume on amp is at 1 or 2 (barely up at all) and the RB's volume between 3 and 5 / gain @ noon or a little above.
This little thing is SMOKING hot.

Cataract: The output, even the main, of the RB is pretty hot, but I would think that a combination of a high input gain, low volume on the RB, and low volume on your amp would get it done. This could be a case of you needing too quiet volume and/or having too much amp to get low enough volume given the high input gain of your signal chain.

Feel lucky that you're one of the only people on TB to ever need less volume from their bass rig, haha

yurrrrrrrrrrrrr. this thing is my BAYBAY. i had a show the other day where bassist of the second band blew his head the day before. and #2 was going to lend his rig to bassist from the first band playing. was a smaller place, so one rig for everybody was pretty awesome. but i got to hear 2 guys playing a bit more traditionally than i do through my Rusty -> Big Ole Poweramp -> GS112 x2 + GS212 rig. and it was GLORIOUS.

love this thing.
