Two Notes Le Bass Players Club

I got mine second hand.

Not sure how long they had it for, but it was in good condition so far it's fine for me.

Originally my idea for getting it was to leave the big board at home and have this on a small board for practice which will give me a little grit to represent any dirty sections of a song.

I now find myself thinking if I play a big gig, it will sit alongside everything else as another type of sound.

I really enjoy it

Mine has been a little quirky when I've moved it on my board a couple of times. It seems like unplugging the cables from the effects loop temporarily disabled sound for some reason, almost like the jack was still somehow engaged and looking for a signal despite the cable being unplugged. "Exercising" the jacks seemed to fix it, so their might have been some dirt, although I've never seen dirt in an effects loop totally shut off a pedal before, usually it just adds noise. I also had one brief moment where the channel switching seemed to stop working. Unplugging everything and then powering the pedal back up again fixed that.

I've never had a problem as long as the pedal stays plugged in on my board, always just when I've moved it. I've also moved it several times with no problem.

As an aside, I've been using matching mid-70's P (with flats) and J (with rounds) basses as of late at my gigs. Having two different channels on the Le Bass has been really handy, as I've been able to dial in a more "Marcus-y" vibe for the Jazz using Channel A and more of an old school vibe with the P using Cold Fusion mode and blending in just a little of the Channel A to fill out the sound. Way cool! I love the sound so much that I won't gig without it, even if I'm only using one bass and don't need any of the other pedals for my gig.

I agree with Charlie above.

I have the gain pretty dined and was looking to see if it would break up, but that's not its strength IMO.

A gives me a lot of tone and warmth and added bass.
B on its own I have set to a tube type growl

Cold fusion you get a bit of warm, bassy growl ESP if you dig in

Hot fusion, its nicely nasty!

@CharlieC @rks @simotek you can get channel A to break up depending on the bass.

My G&L ASAT just goes super smooth and a bit more of what it is.
I just used my G&L L1500 with it which is super hot and this gets it to break up and distort just a little, in a tube type way

Yeah ok, if I move the output volume of the pedal before from center or below (where i've always had it) to full then I can get a little breakup.

I also have a creation audio mk4.23

I reckon this with the bass could put a lot of drive through it, however matching volume levels will always be a problem for different songs, different bases etc.

Here's a cool companion piece to the Le Bass if you're into the MIDI functionality and using more than one bass on a gig:

MIDI Controlled A/B Box for Musical Instruments

It's basically a MIDI controlled A/B box, or you can use it as an effects insert. I'm using it as an A/B, and was able to program the Le Bass to send a MIDI command to the ABCadabra so that I could have my Jazz bass activated and my PBass muted when Channel A is selected, and the PBass active and the Jazz Bass muted when Channel B is selected. Previously I had to switch the channel on the Le Bass and also hit a switch on a Radial Big Shot every time I switched basses. Saves me one step, and I can put the ABCadabra under my board and free up some space.

Hey guys, I got my Le Bass yesterday, plugged it in, but I think the power adapter that comes with is making the unit hiss a bit. Anyone else had this problem?

I got out of the pedal rig a long time ago, but I remember having the same problem when I powered my guitar pedals with a crappy adapter. And the one that comes with Le Bass is so tiny and weighs so little, I got to thinking, maybe it's crap and I just don't know it yet!

Sounds like a grounding problem that you may want to check in your bass, or make sure your mobile phone is not in your pocket near the bass as this can be excess noise and it may get worse with the gain on A pumped.
Reading around it some people have mentioned this even with everything kosher. All depends how big a noise it is and if you can cope, as the LeBass sounds really good
