Actually.... some of the Fender Historians may pay a bunch for a Chip Todd and Hartley signed bass.gotta admit shipping is kinda low
Unsure if there's a guitar history museum anywhere... they did kind of invent machined construction and overseas duplication.

I shot the guy a low offer for the heck of it, the back of the neck looked pretty beat up in the pictures from what i could tell. Still, probably worth it for the tuners anyways

That roach'd one is the only Foundation I've ever seen in that finish, or on any Peavey bass for that matter.
I had bought a non-serial numbered red Unity bass from Derrick. It was a prototype and a neck through. Active electronics and all assembled by Chip Todd. I was told he had initialed the interior of the rear cover but I never saw it. It was a real nice bass, but red is my least favorite color for a bass. I sold it for what I had into it, which was $400 bucks. This was only less than a year ago, or so.
But, at the end of the day it was just a bass and not worth $3,000 like the custom fretless T-40 signed by Chip and Hartley. I remember it sat on the classified for about a month. I don't remember if it sold here, the 'Bay, or Reverb. I know some collectors on AMerican Pickers remember every detail about every sale. Not me. I wish I did, though.

Cool, I agree that the parts were worth the price alone. So, I guess you get your 5 lbs of Peavey schematics soon !!

It's probably that stripped maple one we were talking about earlier! It was rough and a weird color and someone stripped it...
I have seen some people take their basses to custom auto paint shops and had them paint the bass. It takes them hardly any time and I bet you could have that color done. The most time consuming part would be you disassembling it and reassembling it.
I hope they get the $7k BIN price.

Im looking for a truss rod wrench that will fit my T40 and T20. Figured this would be the place to get help. I’ve read varying opinions on what will and will not work. Anyone here have experience with a Grover 5/8 like the one linked?

I believe it's a 5/16" THIN WALL socket..(same as a Gibson) best wait for the experts to chime in lol

Does anyone know what year Peavey went to the rectangular hard case?
I bought a Foundation off GC’s website that comes with the hard case. It was listed as a 1987 bass and I wonder if it will be in the older wedge shaped case or the rectangular one.

the contour case was like 82ish?
since it was an upcharge, many places still sold with the tolex cases
