Wonder if the brother worked in the industry or perhaps even Peavey.

You could certainly do much, much worse with an instrument that costs $100...some of these "mystery" basses end up being a truly wonderful find. At the very least, this is a Peavey using either US or overseas parts of a certain known standard, can't say the same for much of the $100 unknown basses you see on ebay.

Bottom line (pun intended) if it plays well, it IS good. Like I said, I'd buy the pickups alone if it doesn't work out.
The neck is worth $100 alone, no matter what.

That looks like a Millenium 2000 to me, no logo.

My G-Bass has the micro-tilt, this thing does not have the access hole/trim ring that the G-Bass came with.
Don't know if that sheds any light on what this is or is not but it's just something that I see is not on this bass.

It's funny, it looks ALOT like the 2000 Millennium Standard P/J I have as far as body shape, neck, hardware etc. I know they were a limited run, and it sounds like Peavey was experimenting with some ideas at the time. Hard to know without any identifying markers, but maybe this one was a prototype that didn't make it to production? I think it'd be worth $100 just to tinker with it and get a peek under the hood...

I'll tell you the thing that confuses me is it has a battery box but only 3 knobs? They don't appear to be stacked knobs so what the heck is going on?

VFL pickups have a very lie wire count, even response but the output is next to none. They need a battery boost to power them, thats whats going on.

The knobs are vol,vol,tone. Same set up as the Palaedium and RSB models.

The Palaedium controls are volume, blend and tone IIRC.

Ok that makes sense then. If they are active VFL's they would need a battery.

Street rumor (unsure if it's true) was that bart helped peavey. Who knows, with a duplication/machining mindset, there could be no battery OR some controls could be jumped inside.

Better examples would be Foundation S (active) and the Forum Plus, both active pickups with passive Vol/Vol/Tone pots .

Definitely not keeping lol, setup was rough and it was scungey all over. I guess this is one of the early milestones? Before they got more curvaceous? Idk, I’ll take an affinity any day.
