Haha. I'm glad to hear that my "enabling skills" are still functioning. Congrats on a special bass.

Good luck on the search for a Pearl Heather Foundation. That may be the rarest of the rare Foundation finishes. I almost got one off ebay a few years ago, but it was so beat up that I had to pass on it. Tough decision, it was. It's so cool and uncommon that I saved the listing pics. The only one I've seen....

$20 Sure but not much more for that filthy thing.

HA! Im weak I'm weak!!

I know the Pearl Heather is a true unicorn...I saved your pictures last time you posted them.

Cheers!

Edit: BTW there's no way I would've been able to pass it up...I'm weak I yell you!

I just saw a pristine 1st gen Fury in red, must not look any more.

Okay, okay, okay....if a reeeeally nice 1st Gen Fury came my way, I wouldn't complain! Dammit!

I'm not GAS free...
about three weeks ago, I bought a pristine 1990 Yamaha Attitude Standard locally for $200 cash.
I think I'm free...then something comes up that I can't pass up.

Yeah it was a borderline decision for me at the time. I don't recall the listed price, but it seemed way high at the time. Like over $300.

I didn't mind all the honest play wear at all. The corrosion and rusty screws put me off. Even the pics gave off a "been in a dank basement for years" vibe. I could practically smell a warped neck just looking at it.

For $200 I would have grabbed it, and sent the neck to the warped neck guys in Texas, if need be. In retrospect, I should have taken it anyway. Mega cool factor.

Speaking of cool factors, if your new Silver Foundation turns out to have an ebony board, I vote that it goes to the top of list for all-time great Foundation scores. I'm hoping it is ebony, and not just an illusion. That would seem to indicate maybe it was a special order, or at the very least a very rare outlier.

I suffer from the same delusion :(

Danelectro Hodad build starts this weekend but I spotted this 30 minutes back.

Order has already been placed with R&F for the body decal
My last "had to have" before the $200 Attitude Bass was a Squier CV 50's Precision in tobacco sunburst for $289.
The look of the Tele neck and the sound of the single coil in that location.
That paisley is sharp as can be, can't wait to see it finished.
Your 51P stable continues to grow. :bassist:

Hey family -
So, just a reminder. I took out my "new" to me 1987 Foundation yesterday and after I changed the input jack, did a set up, etc it is like new now.

I wasn't happy with the tone, because it didn't have that trademark Geddy Growl that we all love. So, I took my phillips head and raised the pickups to just under the strings enough to where the strings are not hitting the pups. The pickups were looking fine, but that little bit made all the difference in the world !!

Now, she growls like a lion. I LOVE this bass !!! ( I used the camera on my phone this time !)

Hi All,

I am just now getting into Peavey basses mostly do to listening to Hugh Hopper. In the last three weeks I purchased three - two Foundations (a 4 and a 5) and one Dyna (4 string). I am considering a 5 string Dyna and a I am wondering about the access to the higher notes across the board. On the 5 string Foundation it's a strain for me. The 4 string Dyna is very easy. I would think most of you would know everything about a 5 string Dyna. So can some of you share some insights?

Thank You!!
Larry

"overall" a dyna=foundation + preamp

Problem = there were different generations (we do not know what your bass is)

You may be a different model that you're really looking for (would need a description)

Quick question. I've got an opportunity to purchase a Peavey Fury. About a 91 model, looks like a P bass, white bass with maple fretboard. I would call the condition good, not great. I can get it for 350 shipped to me in GA, ships from VA.
To me it seems like a steal on a US made bass but I figured I should ask here.
The other options I'm thinking of are both new Fender Player P bass or a Tagima TJB 4.
Any and all advice appreciated.
