Looks like a done deal for my Foundation 5. And by the end of January it should be in my hands (my first 5-string, that should be interesting). And though Ive commented that I will probably not replace my T40 because of the weight, I dunno. Every time I see one on eBay I go nuts and want it. LOL I also can't seem to get my present Foundation 4 out of my hands since I broke down and tried it out even in lou of the loose trussrod and dead strings. I can't get this thing out of my hands...my Bat I think has been partially retired. :p But it will always be a keeper for me.

Ahh ok, my bad. ^_^ Ive also done a really detailed inspection of my Peavey and one of the springs in the bridge..not sure the tech term for it but the mount/spring for the E string is rusted (well I did notice that before, just commenting while on the subject). I've also discovered the tuner machine for the G string is bent but doesn't seem to effect anything. I am more worried about that rusted spring though.

I'm not one for cosmetics... my basses all get a little 'mung' on 'em, and I generally hardly notice!

Oh I don't mind signs of wear on my basses. Its just the body on that bat is made of something non wood and the finish is so odd, I shutter to think of what I would go through if it really got a ding or scratch. Its bad enough that it DID get one below its sole control knob. And its a fairly good sized scuff it got too. Only thing I can think of to take it out is to break out the Dremel and try to buff if out.

Now that I'm no longer gigging for bread, I'll probably spend more time with them, and take care of 'em!

I now hate gigging for bread- it's poisoned my relationship with music. We're in therapy here...

I am very ignorant as far as gigging for bread. I never have. I would love to hook up with a local band and try it out there, if nothing more then to say that I did. Pardon my stupidity here, but what soured it so much for you, if I may ask.

Mine are posted on page 10 (as you know) :cool: and as soon as I get my Foundation5 (uhm and something tells me Im going to try and scrape up the money for a T40 at the same time or very shortly thereafter) I will posting them as well. Gah my BF is going to kill me if I get more then the Foundation5 next month...mmmm how can I explain this if I get the T40 too....it followed me home? :bassist:

^_^ Hes a Godzilla nut, maybe I can bribe him with some Godzilla stuff before I show him what followed me home. But sadly, the T40 I was watching went up more then I can scrape up right now so I had to pass on it. :( I so wish I had never sold the one I had those years ago ... that was definitely not one of my better decisions....

I've sold two Rickies that I have since kicked myself in the ass for- too hard and too many times now. You'll find another T-40, and I'll find another Rickie! Go forward, my friend...

I went to Peavey's site last night and built my dream cirrus...$2416 worth...booyah:cool: Not as much as it could have been but pretty much as black as you can make one from one end to the other...sweet...got the pic of it as my desktop WP right now. No way can I come up with that any time in the near future but its nice to dream. ^_^ I'm more interested in my Foundation4 and soon to be 5 (can't wait to try a 5) so yea, I'm moving foward I think ^_^

My T-20 arrived today. The good news is, I got it cleaned up, set up and it plays beautifully. The bad news is, it took me all day to get it to this point :hmm:

Basically it was in very good shape. Almost no fret wear and only a very few, VERY minor dings. It was dirty and the setup was the worst I have ever seen. :eek: IMHO, the previous owner had a problem trying to adjust the neck angle screw system in the neck pocket. It was so far out of WHACK it was almost funny :( After some tweeking, adjusting and farting around, I got it dialed in just right. Low action, no buzz, it feels just like my T-40, just lighter and with a different sound :D At some point, when I make a new pickguard and trussrod cover, I'll ditch the neck angle adjustment system and make the pocket solid.

I took the thumbrest/pickup ring off. They just don't suit my style. One thing for sure, this baby is a slap machine, awesome slapability and great slap tone from the maple neck!! :bassist:

All things considered, I'm a happy camper :hyper:

This too took me all day to set up correctly, considering it had been sitting in some dude's basement for 15+ years. Needed to cut a new nut, frozen truss rod nut had to be unfrozen, and pots needed some serious deox.

That looks good in natural. Realistically, unless I can fund a custom of some sort, a Foundation and Millenium are the only to on my want (but don't really need) list.

Edit... I dig the Foundation, esp in the natural finish... but that T-20 purely rocks. That is the shape of a bass (same as the T-40, I know- but simpler), and now, I am going to have to find one. I've commented consistently on this model, for good reason: It has a fundamentally solid shape- very stout with fat, but somehow graceful, lines. And with the single p'up it has an almost P-bass-type classic look to it.

If it has a tone that goes with that look, I want one, and in Natural! I am daily becoming more of a Peavey player- I may just sell my other 2 basses, keep the Dyna-Bass Unity, and look for a T-20.
