If it has a tone that goes with that look, I want one, and in Natural! I am daily becoming more of a Peavey player- I may just sell my other 2 basses, keep the Dyna-Bass Unity, and look for a T-20.

Don't forget the original Fury, Roger. Almost the same as the T-20, but the body is a Foundation instead of a T-40. Everything else is the same.

Looking at the T-40 and T-20 side by side, the T-20 body is shorter by about an inch and slighty smaller overall. It's also more rounded with slight Fender style contour on the back. My T-40 weighs almost 12 1/2lbs. The T-20 is just over 10lbs. The necks are identical.

Oh my, that is beautiful. IMO, looks best out of the all the old Peavey basses.

How does the single slanted super ferrite sound on the T-20 and Fury, compared to, say, the neck pup of the Foundation?

That's the point to me- the T-20 isn't sleek! I like that blocky look. The lines of it are round, but the body is a slab. And the single, small p'up. As nice as that Fury is, it's not the same vibe. I want the lumber on it!

No, unfortunately. However, Peavey does have a listing of their serial numbers. There's a thread on the Peavey sponsored forum called "How old is my baby?" that you can post your SN in and someone will tell you the date

I'd like to get my hands on a Super Ferrite equipped Foundation to find out. I can say that the Fury has a definite P-bass vibe to it, with a little more presence to the sound. It doesn't get quite as "dubby" low as a P, but it does have a nice full sound that sounds great in the mix.

There is that T20 in Brockton, Rog! There always seem to be a few on ebay at any given time, so it's just a matter of having a few extra bucks when one comes along. Same with all older Peavey basses. Most go for reasonable prices, every so often one will go for way too much and some yahoo thinks all old Peavey's are gold and will list a Patriot for a $300 BIN. :rolleyes:

I have seen such direputable activity!

This year I'm going to keep my eyes open. I'm actually getting rid of all but the Peavey and the upright. Also that old fretless project that was Funkster's Ibby is a keeper... I am finishing it for a New Year's resolution! But I'm making room for a T-20. Sometime after that Sunn amp lands in the basement. :) I'm sure I'll find one when it's time.

WOW, a Foundation in natural. That is one pretty, pretty bass. To be honest I do not really like the Fender bass type bodystyles but something about the way Peavey does them that make them ok with me. And this thread is a big learning experience for me regarding Peaveys. All I ever knew was my T40 and now my Foundation. What are some of the other models like and do any of the other ones have the sound range of a T40 or close?
