In an effort to curtail the number of basses that I own/desire, I got an extra neck for my G Bass so I could have it defretted and be able to convert the bass as needed. Now I see this.

There's some kind of saying about good intentions and a road, or something...oh well, I can't seem to recall.

I have a flats Foundation and 2 with rounds.
I do have a Patriot with rounds and a Squier P with flats. Had I found a Fury before the Squier, it would have been my flats "P."
IMO, if you have a lot of basses and use them for various projects, it's a good idea to have a P type and J type with flats in the tool box.

NBD - Black Neck Fury
I need a support group —- you kids are not helping.

Unsure if you have seen the stealthed out Pbass I did for Stu... I’ve always thought about doing another one.... well guess I’m now looking for a black bridge (commonly from a patriot)


OTHER FURY and FOUNDATIONS - premium ones available - owner wants these to go to USA Peavey cult members
So the seller has the following available (I’ve played them all)

  • Sunburst Fury (Cursive Ring around the headstock + Grover titans, maple neck, EMG - has original pickup)
  • Sunburst Foundation (ring around the neck, ferrites, Grover Titans, rosewood neck)
  • Black Foundation (ring around the neck, ferrites, Grover titans, maple neck)
In order to post pix price, I’d need some type of approval from administrators as he’s not a Talkbass person.

Now seems like a good time to find one. The Fury seems to have taken hold in the last month as very popular and the word is out. I know I'm guilty of helping this phenomenon because I can't praise my Gen 3 Fury enough. It sets up like a Cirrus/Spector/etc with action practically laying on the fretboard and having zero buzz. The price of a Fury is so ridiculously cheap now and I see them going up to $400 soon if this trend continues, which is a lot, but for a 7ender person it's called a "steal". :)

This is cool and will be watching this. I think I'm done with GAS for now, but I always say that.

A nice Fury is on GC Used for $299. Not sure what gen it is, but look at the figuring on the neck ! It's too bad both sides aren't matching, but at least they had enough sense to put the figured side where you'll see it when holding it !!!

I've seen this one but it is the second generation. I'm looking for the Gen 1 with the diagonal super farrite.

Once I get a few minutes, I’ll make some 3 ply truss rod covers out of 79-84 Peavey BWB pickguard material I have laying around. I’ll use existing era correct covers to make my template. And I’ll get the screw hole and beveled edges correct too. I’ve done it before in a much less refined way: dremel, sandpaper, etc with success. But, it took a lot of time.
