2 screw mount or Schaller type lugs ?
Grovers were made in Taiwan by the time Fury/Foundation/ launched so if either of those basses have Titans; Peavey were lying about no Far East parts before 94.

I seriously bungled the one I tried making the other day. I didn't take my time, and was hurrying so go figure. The part I really had trouble with was getting the curve correct. I tried heating with a heat gun, and melted part of it (I know now, it was too hot).
I still have my Pearl Heather Foundation I bought back in 84 or 85. I have the original neck but had to put a replacement on it in the late 90's due to warpage. I currently have the original neck in a jig trying to make it useable again.
Mine is in way better shape than the one in these photos. I'm on the road the next two days but I'll post up photos Thursday.
Peavey always made great basses for the money and almost every bass player I have talked to has owned a Peavey bass at one time or another.. I think it's hilarious that the bass I took so much grief over its color, has now become something so hard to find. Wonder if there is any way to get production numbers? When I replaced the next in about 98', I called Peavey and told them what I needed and they actually sent me a neck at no charge. They were such a great company for so many years.
So far, best I can offer as proof that I actually own it is this photo of me back in 1988 sporting feathered hair and big dreams of conquering the world
These all had the "rubber band speed knobs - yes, with bands" and headstock rings..

If the tuners use a 2 screw mount then they are Grover Titans ; back then made in Taiwan , last 25 years made in China.
If the tuners use 2 locking pins they are not Grover Titans but Schallers. Since Schaller have never been made anywhere except Germany then Peavey's " no Far Eastern parts until 1994" claim would true.
Domestic vs import tuners will be a tough one. Kluson went bust in 1981 , when WD Music acquired the brand in 1995 they started up production in Korea. Even some Hipshot gear is made in Korea.

It doesn't matter where it's made. What matters is that it's made well. 
A hair dryer is much better for bending the material.... just enough heat to get it done.

Thats a beauty... Please correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that actually Pearl Rose (pink) and is Pearl Heather more like a lavander color? A rare beauty in any case...

My apologies please. I just looked at a pic my Pearl Rose bass and as you already knew, yours is Pearl Heather!..the lighting and lack of coffee this morning had me foggy. A full day and a couple beers later and Wow!

I have an obsession for wood. The musical kind.
This has been a project for our guitarist and his dad, so they could jam and record together. I had no trouble taking part in this, as it was a freakin' blast. This track has all vox done by me, and I'm playing a U.S. Peavey Cirrus 5 (bolt-on model). We kept as much studio trickery out as possible...some reverb...doing as few takes as possible. People just don't keep music that real anymore (at least not in the mainstream).
