Although Randy seemed to be into Jacksons at the time, the RJ4 , to me, was Peavey's take on a Spector...Maple body, neck thru, active PJ pickups, slimmed-down body, cool inlays
Plus it even has the "Spector curve" on the top wing. SO comfy !!! ... And that black ebony fretboard is just wonderful.

I was kind of surprised I plugged in the grind
For the first time just to get a feel for the control out

turns out it’s volume bass treble
tone and it’s push pull! I thought it might’ve been humbucker single tap but it’s actually a kill switch

might route out the body

and throw some peavey VFL or Nordstrand big single alnico 3 70s wind I have sitting

It's an active/passive switch.

Grab a hex key and slacken the knob grub screw, lift the knob up couple of mm then tighten the grub screw again.

How do I know ? My first Grind passed through 3 owners reporting a faulty preamp :roflmao:

Nonsense.

They have different preamps. RJ-IV has active pickups , Dynabass Unity has passive.

RJ-IV has a different contour neck with a 10" radius, Dyna has 8". RJ-IV has a smaller body, Dyna uses the Unity body.
Dyna has Schaller hardware , RJ-IV use generic + a Hipshot D-tuner.
pickups and pre yes

and also

I stand corrected !

Lobster, good to see you with a Cirrus. My Redwood 6er is my "forever bass". I even got a TL-5 recently and feel the Cirrus has more premium feel, and way more mid heavy sound despite the VFL pickups in both. Really excited to see your review and opinions/comparisons.
Lobster

I swear
Don’t you dare post about the cirrus on you lmao then next thing

all of them will be gone!

Do we know for sure D’Addario super long are need for 35 inch cirrus/ millenium/ GV?

I have a friend who put on on his lakland these D’Addario balanced 5 taper end strings and the taper crossed the nut no problem
I just lined up the E string from a Daddario EXL170BT set on my Stockish 4 string. The taper barely crosses the nut.
I doubt it would reach on a string-through-body bridge.
