Fellow TBers,
Once again I am asking for your help.
I just received a Peavey B-Quad 4 advertised as "with original case".
Do you happen to know if this description for the case is factually correct? I can provide more measurements if this can help.

Problem is... the bass does not fit into the case properly. The neck does not rest in the "neck pocket" and the angled headstock is "poking" into the upper corner, where there is a tear (upper left corner of the interior, this might be the cause of the tear).
In particular if the G tuner is in vertical position it will be moved out of tune by the pressure of the upper lid.

Once again I thank you for all your help.
I would think if it's the original case the bass would fit correctly. Looks more fashioned for a Cirrus imo. But what do i know. I sure a knowledgeable someone will chime in.

Congrats on the BQuad ! I have noticed that there are at least 3 Peavey cases that look similar with green velvet. Cirrus, Millennium, and other like Bquad, etc. Even the 4 string Cirrus cases are different than the 5 string Cirrus. I've had to cut a hole in the case where the upper horn sits in order to make it fit, and then you get that bean bag material kind of junk in your case.
I've solved it by just getting either a Road Runner or Gator soft hard shell case.

I have a BQUAD 4 OHSC

that looks nothing like it
That looks like my G bass, gv, cirrus and millenium cases

My bquad OHSC is a lighter grey in colour more similar to a standard SKB

Here’s a pic of one
I have some I can take too
I’m just not home rn

  • Just snagged this cool looking Foundation S body (from amber's
Brown Eyed Girls Resale Reverb store ) for my custom build Peavey Foundation S project - Already have a nice new old stock rosewood Foundation-2000 neck (also from amber) for it .... No affiliation

Mike, we gonna battle over this one!;)
Just kiddin...but if that blue one wasn't a 6 string I'd be all over it!
If it was a 5 or 6 I wouldn't even be looking at it. :)

That is gonna be a REAL beauty. I've been eyeing that body for a while. It's absolutely gorgeous and will make a real fine bass. I can't wait to see it !!!

Nice score! I had my finger on "accept offer" button when you got it! Can't wait to see it all together!

Cheers!

Nice score! Looking forward to seeing your completed project. She had that one on eBay a little while back. I almost got it with the intention of adapting it to a G Bass neck. My patience paid off as she listed a "Peavey Bass Guitar Body" that happened to be G Bass body. I was the only bidder and got it for $25. I don't know if there would have been more competition if the listing had said G Bass body, but I'm excited about this project. I just need to get the time to get it done.

Exactly why I had to have this one , I'm thinking Gold hardware & bridge , Ebony dye/stained fretboard - I need the control cavity cover or I will have one made ... Note: in the end it may not be all Peavey but at least the body & neck will be a Foundation S / Foundation 2000 mash up

My Peavey brethren… I know you guys bought up some EMG B-stock stuff when we all found out about the reverb store. A friend of mine bought a set of their B stock 40DC pickups, for a bass build I’m doing for him. Well, they sent 45DCs. And, we didn’t notice until assembly yesterday. The store has no more, and he wants to stay on budget.

Does anyone have a set they’d sell him?
