Wrong. That picture was taken (obviously the only one) when the electronics were out to show what a great job the previous owner did lining the cavity with foil.
The normal VFL 3 band is all there Grasshawppah.
Tone control network Op Amp shows a treble murderingnetwork: R102//C105.220k plus 470pF have a turnover frequency of 1500Hz
The 220k is in shunt with the Bax network, is deliberately "much higher" than the Bax. It just sets DC bias. Note that the 470pFd becomes in-shunt with the 0.01uFd (10,000pFd) in the Bax, suggesting top rolloff about 4 octaves higher than tone turnover, maybe 30kHz.
I'm not impressed with the Blend pot shorting-out the preamps because I'd be sure Peavey put some impedance in there.
I'm not fond of Peavey but most of their stuff is/was much better than users say.
Ask those audiophile guys to design and build a preamp

The pickups have a pre-amp in them. There's your buffer. Next question....
Checked out the Fury... pretty severe bow in the neck, and didn't want to risk dealing with a potentially seized up truss rod. Had to pass, but I've always got my eyes out for a sweet deal!

Nice!! An Ash Foundy is on my list too. Got an ash/rosewood slant Fury. Kinda like the less common woods. Two Hog Foundations, Koa TL-5
Thinking about putting all black hardware on my '87 Foundation (White). Two questions:
1) What is the best replacement bridge for these trapezoidal ones, which would cover the existing holes and fit nicely.
2) These are Schaller tuners, correct? Do they make new, drop-in replacements for these, in black? Are these the S-4 model?

I have a question that has been preventing me from buying a Fury for a long time. Can a Fury sound like a '61 or 62' Fender Precision? Like this 1961 and 1962 precision basses. | TalkBass.com ?

That's kinda like asking can I get my '73 to sound like a '61? Umm maybe? There is only one way to find out for sure. Especially for such a modest investment and a set of strings.

To me, a P mostly sounds like a P, even if it's a Fury. As long as the pickup is an alnico 5 with around 11-12K resistance, it's gonna sound like most any P made from 1957-1983.
Strings and technique take care of 80% of it.
Picked up a mahogany body Patriot for $100. 
Neck is good, truss rod works, electronics work but she needs a bath and some love. New pickguard on the way. Will need pots and jack replaced. It is missing two screws from the pickup ring. Anyone know the size on those?
And it only has one knob, which is the original.
