Picked up a mahogany body Patriot for $100.Neck is good, truss rod works, electronics work but she needs a bath and some love. New pickguard on the way. Will need pots and jack replaced. It is missing two screws from the pickup ring. Anyone know the size on those?
And it only has one knob, which is the original.

I REALLY love the neck. Any idea where I could find a new nut for it? Or pickup ring screws?

I posted this in the Forum Basses BG but I've just seen this Peavey Club and I'm sorry for repeating the same stuff here but this could be the right place for what I need.
The thing is that I'm new in this Bass world and I decided to buy one for composing at home and also to enjoy making Big Fat Noise, but still not sure which of these two Basses could be the best option. So that's why I'm here and some experienced help could be great and very welcome. First of all, Why Peavey?, I've got more Peavey Gear and I like it (guitar stuff). I suppose I'm a bit Peavey addicted
The thing is that I've got the option to buy a second hand Peavey Millennium BXP (2005) that looks new, never played, or a new Peavey Milestone (2022). The both 4 strings.
Having the same price, is there any difference between them (technically and sound)?
If it's more beautiful or not, I'll consider it later.
I'm not sure if you need more details, if so just let me know.

J bass with pau fero board vs PJ with maple board. Both passive. Tough choice. Which neck feel do you prefer? Do you prefer the sound of a J or P? only you can decide. If possible play each and trust your hands and ears.

I've been checking around what you said, the J or PJ was a good start and as I'm not going to be able to play anyone of them, I think I'll go for the PJ. After reading reviews and listening to some videos, I see more versatile the PJ

My Fury also has passive EMG (Selects), flats, and is the best Pbass I own.
I think Pressure Wounds are great strings.

Yep. I have a hybrid set of Chromes on my 'Flats P' (which happens to be a CV/VM parts Squier). They have such a smooth feel and perfect 'thumpy' tone. I did it with two sets of Chromes, one 45-100 and one 50-105. Use the 45 & 65 from one set and the 85 & 105 from the other, then sell or gift the leftover singles to other bassists. It's a pain to do it that way and I wish D'addario would just offer that gauge, but these have been on that bass for over 6 years, and they will probably go another 6 years, so whatever. haha.

Most of us are addicted. I find the basses to be the ultimate bang for the buck. If I had one bass, and it was passive. It may just have to be the Milestone PJ. To really make a PJ extra versatile, wire up a push/pull pot so you can run the P pickup in series or parallel. This way you can get classic P tones out of the soloed/series P, all the usual P/J tones and a more accurate J type emulation with the P pickup in parallel mode and blended with the J.
Me too. I have a set of them waiting for a bass. Thinking one of the Foundations may get them.
I just picked up my second Fury last week from a guy in Philly. I got my first one a few months ago from Va. and I really like it. I bought the second one on a meet up so I couldn't play it, but when I got it home the first thing I noticed is that it seems a good bit heavier than the first. First is a '94 and the second is a '90. I haven't weighed either, but is there anything out there that tells me there should be a significant weight difference in these two basses? Not much on heavy basses and the '94 is just right. Thanks..Bob
