There is a P/J FORUM on Reverb. These are so rare. I've owned the dual and single VFL, but not the P/J. I don't know if I've ever seen one.
I don't remember what Chuck's active P/J was.

If any of you are looking for a 7ender deluxe precision bass killer, this IS it. The preamp on these sound fantastic.

Not a fan of gold, but that would have been sort of easy to change, if need be.

I concur, the Forum/Forum Plus P/J is a fantastic bass. My green one is a '94 Forum Plus, but I fully changed out the electronics. As much as I love EMGs, these Peavey actives (PVMGs, haha) just didn't do it for me. They were overly hot and had a strange honk-y tone to them (which I find on some P/J). I changed the actives out for a Wilde P46/J45L set with Vol/Blend/Tone and push/pull for series/parallel on the P46. These pickups sound amazing, didn't honk and were the same gain level as most of my other basses. It was also an experiment, as I have heard great things about the Wildes, but never played them. Seeing that they resell well, it was a no risk purchase.
The bass platform couldn't be better: super stable neck, perfect balance, plays like a dream and it's GREEN! I was looking for a Foundation S, but when this popped up for $160, I had to jump. I also had to put the metal P knobs and a new black pickguard on it, the original pickguard was toast.

Nonetheless, that is a SWEEEET! deal on a Dyna Unity!! But I sure don't need another blue bass! By the way I just sold that killer blue Foundation that you sold me....to a guy in our FB Peavey page that wanted it bad, and promised to baby it just as you and I did!

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHA !!! I said the SAME thing to Rob, "accusing" him of living in Alabama and he gave me the same treatment.
Anyway, $300 bucks is killer for a Dyna.

I am now the proud owner of a MIDIbass complete with all the fixin's. I will be able to control my Garageband plug-ins now with a BASS instead of a Mac.

Don't pick my brain, yet. I'm a newbie and JUST started learning Garageband a month ago. I'm HOPING it will work, but if not the unit itself is cool. I will keep you posted...

Haha! Yep, back in the day when US Peaveys were still under the radar! I did have to throw a $50 pickguard, $170 of pickups, $50 of knobs and pots and about 2 hours of labor into it to get it up and running.
I did sell the original active pickups to a guy here on TB for around $80, so i did recoup some back. So I guess it's really a $350 bass.

Ah, those were the days when we felt like Peavey was our own little 20 year secret.
A $350 bass that blows doors over most $1,200 basses. The only other bass these days that I see as a Peavey kind of value to money spent is SIRE.
