According to the seller the scale is "regular jazz bass". I am assuming that is 34". I thought G basses had 35".

The seller has it wrong just like he had the Modulus thing wrong.

So is the listing really for a G bass?

A listing for a G Bass without Peavey electronics ... but lots of Bartolini goodies added, which is usually a very good thing.
I think this is a super cool bass and an upgrade to a stock G Bass by a lot.
The bass is a steal for the asking price, unfortunately my old n broken hands don't like 35" scale.
Somebody here should grab this bass, I bet it could put a whoopin' on a lot of more expensive basses.

The body shape looks right, and the neck definitely looks right.

...but I guess I missed the 34" scale length in the listing. I'd bet that's wrong.

Hey there, so I was telling Rob that I might flame burn the Millennium body I just got from Amber. I think it will look really good with hand rubbed wax, too. I've decided the might do it turned into will do it.

The G Bass necks were made to 35" scale, and the body is the G Bass/Millennium shape so the bass has got to be 35" scale.
The bass looks like it was put together well as a two Jazz pickup bass, and the control knobs look correct for the G bass.
Somebody went wild and added the MM pickup and the three extra control knobs and related electronics.
The whole thing looks pro and quality.

I asked him to measure it and he came back with 35"!!!!!

They look like they probably have the same size pocket and heel, but with a different hole pattern.

Looks good from far, but far from good. It's either really dirty or has been refinished poorly. And, look at the E srring from the pup to the bridge. What the heck is going on there? I'll be very, very surprised if it sells anywhere near that price.

It really does look nice until you zoom in though.

Yeah, he's misinformed at the very least. I'd guess that @58kites has it right with the jazz pup configuration being original and the MM a mod. But if it's a genuine G Bass body, which it looks very much like, it'd have to be a prototype.

If I were in the market, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, and not care that the story is inaccurate. I would just hope that it's the player that it looks like.

It looks exactly like a millennium body...that was even a millennium stock color. JJ pup placement and who would put an MM pickup in that neck position where its essentially a mudbucker? So my bet is a millennium JJ modified with an added humbucker which is wired separately, hence the second output jack. They put a G bass neck on it because it was cool. It's somebody's frankenbass. Maybe Peavey did it but I highly doubt it. The PUP configuration and electronics rule out a prototype to me. It just looks too wrong. Maybe a test mule but its in too nice shape for that I think. The only thing that really throws me is the bridge. Where the heck did that come from?

Maybe somebody at Peavey was messing around, the body and neck and bridge all look G Bass, and the four screws in back.
The two jazz pickup thing looks like the Millennium JJ.
The original G bass knob configuration is there, but aren't millenniums the same?
The MM pickup, three additional control knobs and additional output jack is when things got a little strange.
