So some of you know I got a Dyna some years ago with the intention of stringing it BEAD which I did. I bought it, cleaned it up and immediately strung it BEAD with Chromes. I played it two or three times for a church gig I was doing at the time. Then I put it away and it has sat since then. So today, I made the decision to put it back to EADG and use it as a backup to my Bongo in in my classic rock cover band.
I originally used the mech method to widen the slots where you wrap the larger diameter string in fine sand paper and gently sand down to the bottom of the slot. It worked a charm. This makes it easy to go back to the original string which will still center in the bottom of the fully radiused slot. No need for a new nut. It worked perfectly. Minor tweak to the setup and done.
So far I'm super happy with it. I've never played it before except in the BEAD configuration and I have to say I really love the pre-amp. I had to make a trim pot adjustment to equalize the volumes but once that was done she was ready to rock. No more sitting in the closet for this baby.

Have been waiting and waiting for the right Cirrus four string to come along, and finally pulled the trigger on this one.
and that's a good thing.
