If you ever want to get rid of it, I would gladly take it off your hands! I've been trying to find one since the 90's.
Yeah, that's part of the big collection that is being sold, which was highlighted here a couple weeks ago. It's about a four hour drive for me. If it were 2 1/2 years (5 basses) ago, I'd make the drive to check out all those nice Peaveys.I play with the worship team at church on Sunday mornings. I usually use one of my Roscoe basses but yesterday I used my Forum passive P/J. I had only played it out of my house one time in the past. I took it to a blues/rock jam session and one of the guys there tried to buy it from me when he heard the bass. Instead of selling it I helped him find a nice older Fury and he is very happy with it.
At church I used the Forum into a Mesa D-800 and one Aguilar GS112. I have TI flats on that bass and it is set up with almost no relief and the action is excellent. It sounded heavenly. These basses are rare (only made for two years) and so overlooked. The Forum Plus replaced this model and the plus has active PU's similar to EMG's but the tone is not as good as the passive version IMO. The passive P/J bridge PU is a Jazz S/S humbucker. There is no hum issue with these basses.

My metallic green Forum Plus started life stock: active pickups and a high mass bridge. The bridge was great, but those Peavey EMG-style actives were not great sounding to me. VERY hot (actually overly hot) and the EQ curve wasn't "EMG" enough for me to tolerate them. Once replaced with a Wilde P46/J45L set and a series/parallel switch for the P46, the tone matched up to it's playability. It set up like a dream, and it nails a passive P tone, P/J blend and does a decent fake of J and SCPB when in parallel mode. It was my go-to passive 4 string for the 80s cover band, along with the active 5 du jour. Those two basses nailed all the tones necessary to play the songs.I play with the worship team at church on Sunday mornings. It's funny, I was just thinking to myself yesterday that, if I acquire one more Peavey for the stable, it would be an '87 Mahogany Patriot, which I would have it routed for a single coil SF at the neck (RicRiot), slanted SF in the P middle position and a single coil SF in the Foundation bridge position with a six way selector switch...
Would you put a different neck on it to make it a 32" scale bass?
I would put a 32" scale neck on it yes and yes, all my basses are either 32" or 31" scale basses.
I was told it is Sunfire Red,by someone here? It is more of a cream color pick guard than white.
