Ahhh! I get you. Suggesting that the rosewood be trimmed down to allow access, right?
Due to the truss rod cover (and how it's mounted) the hole can be commonly opened up (and not visible when the cover is on)
I'm guessing this may be the most complex part of building the bass (truss hole) as it may have been done with more complex cuts etc... for a VERY consistent bass, this is the single part that has variables.
