U.S. Peavey Club

anyone have a truss cover sitting around (yes, know I could just cut one from black plastic)... thought someone may have a junk drawer relic

Wow ! That’s a color I’ve never seen ! What year is that ? Where did you find that ?

She's a 1983 a Reverb find back in '21...

I also have a Pearl White and a Sunfire Red customs. Foundations are cool! I have a black one that has what I consider "the" sound...like when you fine the one...plays like butter, action can get as tight as and bass I own. Who'da thunk it? The thing just rips, hard to explain but my others don't do it like The Smoker! Got it in VT house yellowed with cig smoke! $135 with a little fender kickback amp that works. There's not a square inch without a dent or scratch... Rock and Roll!

Cheers!

1st gen DynaBass had an ebony board but not the 2nd gen. DynaBass Unity Series and Unity Series Ltd were ebony.

The other ebony models were the Palaedium, RJ-IV, Sarzo, both gen TL-5 and the TL-6.
I remember this from instruments I previously owned.

I couldn't remember if the bolt on dyna (non ferrite) was included.

thanks a ton -- I admire your smarts.

Looking to install a new nut on my Dyna. This one I believe....

Thoughts on if this is the right one? Seems to be close. I assume Peavey bass nuts are flat bottom.
Any other ideas?

Hey man I hope you’re well.

Why do you suppose my Silver Foundation has an ebony fretboard?

Cheers brother!
Could really do with finding a job but I'm doing great :)

Sister got diagnosed with cancer again. Pretty intense treatment, radio therapy every day for 6 weeks. Quit work so I could drive her to hospital and back.

She got all clear couple of weeks back 🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️

I think your silver Foundation was a "one-of" store order

Peavey offered a wide range of colours, more than any store could keep in stock; especially Mom & Pop ones. If you wanted something particular they would call their rep and he'd tell the factory to ship one out. Some stores had more clout, or customer care, than others and I'm thinking the sales rep request was " Can you do a Foundation with ebony ?"

DynaBass necks and Foundation necks have the same heel/profile/board radius etc. Would be the work of 2 minutes to grab a DynaBass neck out the line and have it badged as a Foundation.

Best I can come up with at 03:07 😀

I have three USA Peaveys (T-40, TL-Five, Cirrus 6), and a Millennium Plus is still on my wish list.

What I have been more obsessed with lately, though, is Peavey amps, and more specifically, GUITAR amps. I'm not really a guitarist, but I can certainly appreciate great guitar tone, and man, they were making some killer guitar amps (example, Stereo Chorus 212) back in the day. Between sound/tone, looks (always loved the Peavey aesthetic for whatever reason), and legendary ruggedness, yeah...(side note: my first "real" bass amp was a Peavey TKO65).
