Dang, and I thought I got a good deal! Great find. I now have the urge to find a US made Peavey P.
Fleabay has 4 Sunburst T-40's right now. Glad I got rid of mine a couple of months ago (didn't want to, but my back couldn't take it and I got a sweet deal on a USA Cirrus, so it had to go). These all have maple fretboards.
A question to the T40 gurus - which is harder to find, the Sunburst/Maple or Sunburst/Rosewood?
Edit: I should re-phrase that question - Is the T40 Sunburst/Rosewood combo considered "rare"?

The T-40 switch closest to the neck pup is interesting since many basses from that area were simple-they were all about volume, or tone boost/cut.

Ack beg for some factory switches ---- its rumored that radio shack and digi key have replacements

Picked up an 89 white foundation yesterday. I got it home and cleaned it up and could not belive the sound of this bass. It is great to own a MIA bass of this quality. In fact I was playing along to "us and them" by Pink Floyd and my wife came in to put some clothes in the closet. She has heard me play this song before on my Millineum BXP and she said that this bass sounds better and that is through the little Fender rumble 15 amp. I tried to post pic's but they would not download due to size. All I have as far as a camera goes is my cell phone. Can someone give some advice on downloading pics from a cell phone to TB? Thanks
Tim, as far as I can tell, my switches are all factory original (they're the flat-sided switches that I believe were in production until mid-1983 or so).
I also have the lined Bullet case for the T-40. It's in good shape as well.
I love this bass, but I don't like wall decorations...I need to play it or sell it.

As far as pictures go, I upload and organize my pics to Photobucket. It's free (but there is a downside), but there are several other photo sharing website.
After you upload your photos there, you click on the "IMG Code" button for whichever picture (one at a time) you want to copy into a thread. Go to the TB thread and hit "paste" [ctrl-V], which will paste a long string that points to the picture in Photobucket. Hit "Preview" below the TB Reply to see what you've done. Go back to Photobucket and add more if you like.
The key to keeping your pictures available in threads is to not move/delete them once you've uploaded them in Photobucket. Arrange/organize them first, them copy the Image Code.
The BAD thing about Photobucket: When you're uploading pictures from your PC to Photobucket, it will automatically start playing a video commercial - really, really LOUD. Scary Loud. I have never been able to stop it, either.
Make sure your PC sound is turned down when uploading pics to Photobucket (If you choose to use it).

Thanks for the pics help. I do have 2 other questions about my Foundation. #1. It looks like someone touched up the white paint on the headstock and got some on the natural wood. What is a good cleaner to use to remove paint that will not hurt the finish? #2. There seems to be some type of bluish/purple spots and streaks that look like they are under the paint and seem to be bleeding through, they are not noticible from a distance though. Since the headstock is also white I don't think someone refinished a blueish/purple colored bass to a white one.
