Taper (exposed core preferably) rest closer to the bridge saddles - theyll vibrate in a less wobbly (machinists call this runout) fashion

Contrary to what we'll read on talkbass strings are floppy - basses aren't

Files note: I purchased ten "finishing" and "deburring" files from a machine cutting tool vendor - these are used to finish frets and bridge saddles - not the nut

Hello, I recently got a MIA Rudy Sarzo signature model (not the cirrus, the old one) and would like to know more about it. What type of wood is the body, how much do they usually go for, and if it's based off another peavey (not signature) model. It's serial number is 04167526.

The neck and through body are always maple with purpleheart stringers. The wings could be most anything but the most common I've seen are maple, alder and corina. The preamp is the same as the 5 knob DynaBass. Shape and pickups were new to the model but I was told back in the day that the pickups started out as T-40 and evolved into a slightly different internal design. The neck shape, to me, feels like a late 80s Fury that has been stretched to 24 frets.

First up is a Foundation S in blue. I really like the PJ pickup combination on this. I put new nickel powerwound SIT strings on and it sounds great. The pickups are active on this one.

Next I have a green TL-5 with the VFL pickups. Serial places it in 1993. I have mixed feelings about this one, it sounds great, but I'm not sure I like the green that much. I may be putting this one in the TB classifieds.

I just love the bang for the buck USA Peavey's give!

The one with the blue sky background pic? It's been relisted several times. Price too high?

It has the "wrong" pickups for me (not interested in VFL's), otherwise I'd have probed it.

So I'll be getting a Peavey Foundation fairly soon. The one with the Super Ferrites, I have read non-stop good things about them, and wanted to try it out for myself!

I do have a question. Do you guys think it's possible to put one of those chrome pick up covers like old Jazzes, have on one of these basses? I really like the look of them and on Jazz basses they actually help my playing, instead of hinder it like on my P bass.

The only bridge that's a direct replacement is another Schaller. If you look at the screw pattern, it's not centered, but biased to the B side. Any other pattern will have to be located and drilled. For tuners, any brand of the form factor that is on there that I've tried will fit. I believe the tuners are Goto 510 types.

the Schaller bridge uses #8 screws and a lot of bridges use a smaller #6.

The bridge on the second gen I have is one of the later Gotoh style bridges with four anchor screws.

A Fender Jazz pickup cover won't fit. There's a plastic ring that surrounds the Super Ferrite on the Peavey, and it's about 3/8" too long to accommodate that pickup cover.
