I had someone ask me, and I thought someone here would surely know. I looks like the 2nd gen TL-5's might have had some with flat pickups and some that were radiused. Is there a difference besides the shape of the cover?

It was listed as "Frost Blue", I didn't think it was the correct name but I love the color ! I've always liked "Sea Foam Green" and this being the first Dyna I've seen this color, I had to have it !Thanks for the tip on the balance adjustment !

Thanks. I'll let my friend know. In doing research for that I took a better look at the Sarzos and had a couple questions. Is that the same preamp as the Dyna's/1st gen TL-5's, and are those the same pickups that are in the Forums? They look very similar to the one in mine, which is different than a VFL.

The first Peavey I saw this "teal" color was a Patriot,I didn't win the bid on it. This one just had to be mine !
It is the same preamp as the SF Dyna's and TL-5s. I'm not totally sure about the pickups but I don't think they are the same as the Forums. They're really good humbuckers that are on the high fidelity side, what ever that means, IMO. On the Sarzos I have, the centertap of the pickup coils comes out with the pickup cable and is accessible so a SC/HB switch could be added although the instrument is so flexible as it is I haven't seen the need.

mech-A coil tap switch on one of those would pretty sweet. I think a Sarzo is now what I'm GASing after.
I may be getting a Dyna pre by itself and was trying to think of a cool 2 pickup bass to put it in. Has anyone ever done that? What about a Tbird? Any thoughts? More questions marks anyone?

I am probably going to buy this USA made Fury. The only problem is that the logo has been removed from the headstock. I am getting it for $100 with a Peavey case. I think a good deal considering.
I bought this while on a work off site meeting in Minneapolis. Brought it back on a littl regional jet, they put it in the flight crew closet for me. I really like the tone, bright. I lowered the action and the intonation is good. I still want to have a pro set it up, but I love this $100 find.

There is a bass on GC's used site that is interesting. It's labeled as an RJ-IV, and while there are signs that that's what it is, there are also signs to the contrary. It has the correct body shape, pickups, bridge and fingerboard inlays, but it appears to be passive, bolt-on and has a 2+2 headstock. Also, it's just plain white, not some neon-burst like they normally are. Anyone have a clue what this thing is?

It doesn't have the RJIV preamp controls or a pickup selector switch. Appears to be a bolt on also.

Yeah, I pointed both of those facts out in the original post. However, it has the right body shape, neck inlays and pickups/ bridge. The fact it's passive, bolt-on and 2+2 headstock is what is so odd.

That bass had been floating around ebay for a long time. I don't believe it's a prototype, though I'm hard pressed to say exactly what it actually is.
