U.S. Peavey Club

That bass had been floating around ebay for a long time. I don't believe it's a prototype, though I'm hard pressed to say exactly what it actually is.

From the pic there, it looks like the logo on the part of the neck that extends into the body is the RJ-IV logo. Plus, the only way a GC employee would know what kind of bass it is is if there was some type of marking on it. Not sure why this couldn't be a prototype, as creating this as a fraud has obviously not been lucrative!

All true, but there's so much wrong with that bass that it has to be assumed that it has no connection to Peavey.

Here is my T-20, I posted a while back but never had a picture. the original electronics went belly up so I re-wired with just a single volume. my number one player. also have a basic red/white and maple Fury on the way sometime this week, pics a few days after arrival. Also, How does anyone feel about the Koa Unity's? I have U.S. Peavey GAS in the worst way. :hyper:

Love the T-20...

I have a passive Koa Unity - at least I had one.
Ever since it arrived, my son has adopted it as his own.
It's a simple, wonderful bass. Lightweight and not too bad to look at, either.

I saw this this morning if anyone is looking for value in a T-40:

That is at my local GC. I only glanced at it, but could tell it's been hacked to pieces. Not much left that is original. Different pickups, and I assume, electronics... the control cavity looks to have been routed out in the shape of a crescent moon. Body looks to have been shaved down, and there is something funky behind the neckplate... looked like they shaved it down as well, found it didn't work, then put a piece of wood there to return it to normal. Since you can find completely stock T-40's for near this price, the fact that they're trying to get that much for this one is an utter joke. It's going to sit there until they mark it down, but if the markdown isn't to $50, I will never touch it. YMMV.

I think they are the original PUs with the covers taken off or more likely, painted black since there is a hint of chrome on the neck PU under the D string by the neck. I agree on price.

I think you are right... the pickups are stock, but after seeing some pics of bodies, sans pickguard, the body may be homemade. This thing is a mess.

I got this one recently and really like it. It is not all original, has bart electronics, and new frets. It is sweet.
