Thanks , It had bad buckle rash and about a 1" dia. spot between A&D strings I was just going to black it out so I got a Schaller/ Kramer bridge on e-bay and when I was trying to shield cavity the paint was coming loose then I saw a stripped one on the forum on Peaveys site so I got out the sanders. The bare body looked too stark to me so I was going to put a ernie ball type control plate, but flush, And my router had a different idea so I just routed the stripe and used the rest of my piece of rosewood to balance it out some. The tuners came from Rondo music because they almost completely cover original screw holes and bonus, they are inexpensive. Nice heavy black knobs from ? I carved a bone nut for it, truss rod cover from same rosewood, new metal jackplate,threaded inserts in neck, Dunlop straplocks, flush on bottom, and of course black beauties.Soon I will take it all apart again and put a better finish on it as right now it just has Howards feed n wax on it. Anyone here A/B'd a Cirrus and a GV? It seems that my GV's are louder and have a lot more bass than the Cirrus, which I find odd, as they have the same electronics. I know the materials and neck method are completely different, but I expected them to be much closer to each other than they are. Just trying to figure out if this is the norm or if something isn't right with the Cirrus pre.
I just bought this bass from a friend for $125:
It weighs in at about 8 lbs, according to the bathroom scale. Light to be sure! I think he bought it, played it for about a year, and then stuck it in its gig bag in a closet since then. The hardware needs a wipedown with denatured alcohol but otherwise it's in great shape. Just one ding on the headstock.
There's a hole in the neck plate which I assume is for micro-tilt. How do I adjust this, or when should I adjust it?

Allen head wrench adjust the micro tilt. Loosen neck bolts by a few turns, then clock wise to raise, counter to lower. Micro tilt is used only for action preference. I adjust mine at the saddles first and if still needed, I use the micro-tilt.

It's with a heavy heart that I want to let the members of this group to know that Mike Powers died of a heart attack last night in Meridian. For those of you who don't know, Mike was the engineer/luthier at Peavey who designed the Foundation, Dynabass, RJ IV, Unity, TL, G Bass, Sarzos, Paladium, Accelerator and Cirrus basses along with host of others too many to list here. Mike was a great player and friend and will be missed by many. This group is a tribute to his work and I thought you would like to know.

Unfortunately not. It's more of a light purple. Still looks/plays really nice. It's still available at Sam Ash if you're ever in NJ.
I'm thinking about getting a Foundation 5er - anyone know what the width at the nut is on these??? I currently have a Sterling 5HS, SUB5, and sr905, and don't want a 5er with a significantly wider neck than those...

My two Dynas, which I believe are the same size neck as Foundations (someone correct me if I'm wrong), are 1.7". Pretty narrow.
