Thanks for checking! Based on the posts here I'm going to have to do some research and see if my Fury will fit in the older 'teardrop' cases. If it will only fit in the rectangular one I'm not too eager to get one of those. I hadn't even seen the rectangular one until a few posts ago, so had been assuming it would be the awesome looking teardrop case.

T-40, Dyna, Foundation, Fury (P pickup), B-90, TL-5 and Sarzo will fit the teardrop case, along with many others that are variations and have the relatively short upper horn. A TL-6 may not because of the width of the neck at the body. Don't have one to try.

Edit: The case I tried was un-lined, unlike the T-45 case in the post above.

Here she is. I think this bass is exactly what I have always wanted tone and feel wise. Sorry for the picture, all I have is my phone. But, this bass just completely blew me away. Also has a pretty sweet birds eye fretboard.

Discrepancy in B-string bridge saddle position between seemingly otherwise identical instruments. Please explain.

Is it me, or does that photo cause one to ponder if BMW ripped-off Peavey when they were designing the headstock of the Musicman Bongo?

Ok I have a question? So I just bought an 82 T-45. I like it alot. But I'm curious as to how much more rare it is than the T-40. Like how long did they make the T-45 vs the T-40? Also on eBay there's a T-40 selling for 305 + 50 shipping. And one immaculate T-40 that is like 650 asking price with no takers. So anyway. Are the T-45 more desirable as collectible a than T-40? I want to find a T-40 and a T-20 now to go with my T-45 and my Foundation. I am relatively new to peavy basses. I know I love the early ones and they are well made USA products. And I'm gonna play them no matter what.

The T-45 isn't really "rare". It's much less common than the T-40, but there are a lot of them out there. I believe they made the T-45 for 5 years, as opposed to the T-40, which was around for 9 years. The T-45's run around the same price, often less than a T-40. It's a rare day that I see a T-45 sell for more than a T-40.

$650 is WAY too high for a T-40. Not too long ago you used to be able to get a mint T-40 for around $250. Not anymore. T-40 prices have been creeping up over the last 3-4 years. Now I'd say a minty T-40 w/orginal case is a $400+ instrument.
