Ok I'm convinced my T45 is not wired correctly now. The middle tone when turned all the way down I loose almost all volume. Now I find out the pots are not the correct ones. Thinking I should just get new pots and caps and all that and get it redone correctly. How difficult is the wiring on these to get the circuit right? My tech is really awesome and I guess I am so wired about it because I want it to just be correct. Are there any special considerations when wiring it, I mean if he can build his own strata with 14 way switching and all that jazz he can handle this right?

So, i got an allparts truss rod adjuster for my fury in the mail today, and as it happens, the shaft of the socket isn't long enough to reach the nut. Either that, or the nut has been tampered with, and a smaller nut has been inserted in place of the original, and the wrench is just twisting around air. The nut does look slightly smaller than that on my '91 foundation, but it is so far down in the adjustment cavity it is very, very hard to tell. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Thinking maybe I'll just buy a soldering iron and learn how to do it myself. I'll never be happy until I understand it. And am able to know its right. Can you buy all the capacitors and such from peavy still or should I look somewhere else, and could someone please post a pic if your T-45 wiring.

Can you post a picture of the truss rod nut as well as the tool?

IIRC, the forum if 1.7" at the nut? Kinda big imo, a neck swap could give you a slimmer profile if you're after that. Honestly, while necks do pop up on ebay occasionally, i would say your best bet is to pick up something (preferably with a torn to hell body and an immaculate neck) and swap. Just my opinion.

For the bridge, assuming it is typical fender spacing (which it very well may not be, someone may be able to answer this better than I can), I had a friend who had great results with this on his squier affinity: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bass-Bridge...d=100034&prg=1079&rk=2&rkt=8&sd=301049461743&

The Peavey neck thing is a slippery slope, trust me. It's cheaper to buy another Peavey bass then refret your neck, but then you figure maybe I should just get another neck and put it on the new body and the whole process starts over. In the long run, if you want to limit your herd refret the neck, it will probably be cheaper.

As for the preamp, tried and true- Aguilar OBP-3. I don't know of a direct replacement bridge due to Peavey's mounting screw location, But a Gotoh 301 should line up with the middle screw, and the rest could be pre-drilled and installed.

PS- I saw a pj Forum at a pawn shop in Orlando for $150. If you had to have one they could probably work out some shipping deal.

The tool is exactly like this one.

I can try to get a picture of the nut later in the week, maybe this weekend. I don't get home until dark most of the time, and my house has awful lighting, quite dingy. However, what i can see of the nut is that there is probably 2-2.5 mm of rod above the nut. I'm unsure if this is normal, or if the truss rod is maxed our (please all powers of the universe don't let it be), or what. Im quite in the dark here, literally and figuratively lol.

I heard... That it takes a special tool for these peavy's. Now idk but my tech has been able to work on all mine. It was not the tool he thought it would be, but one if his older tools which he said he hadn't used in a long time was the one that worked. He put my name on it and said now I'll remember when you bring me one if those old peavy's I'll grab this truss rod tool.

That tool doesn't look like the 5/16" Gibson tool that I use for my Peavey's.

I suppose not, the allparts fit my foundation neck fine. However, it is 8 years newer than the one on my fury. I know peavey had some truss rod/nut/access issues historically, maybe this was corrected at some time, and thats why they're different. Thats been my rationale, anyway haha

Project in the works, just a paper star taped on. The Texas Flag Fury. When I bought it someone had sanded the logo off of the headstock so I decided to get creative. I am going to paint on the star.

Any tips on making a cover for the truss rod?
